Accordingly, in the second quarter of 2024, the two sides will deploy and are expected to complete the following items in October 2024: Installing an AI camera system at the airport check-in areas to assess crowding density; deploying additional mobile applications to provide smart support solutions to notify departure status, determine current location on the map...; building a new website to serve multilingual information lookup and search; arranging additional systems to evaluate and look up information using touch devices throughout the terminal. The goal of the cooperation is to promote digital transformation in the short term and towards comprehensive modernization in the long term.
Mr. Do Trong Hau - Deputy General Director of Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) said that the effectiveness of digital transformation projects does not lie in the technology chosen but in the way the technology is used. Therefore, instead of choosing available solutions on the market, the terminal chose to cooperate with FPT Software to develop its own solutions, optimally meeting and closely following the actual needs at the terminal.
It is known that in the period of 2022 - 2023, Da Nang International Terminal has installed automated procedures such as automatic immigration control system (autogate), automatic departure gate (auto boarding gate), self-check-in kiosk.
Notably, for the first time in Vietnam, an airport terminal has introduced a self-bag-drop system into its operations, and it was pioneered by Starlux Airlines, marking an important milestone when the entire check-in process at the airport terminal is fully automated.
In 2024, Da Nang International Terminal will continue to invest in applying technology to its operational processes to shorten check-in time; aiming to develop the first smart airport terminal model in Vietnam.
