Sadness fossilized into poetry

Poet Le Minh Quoc said: "Nguyen Ngoc Hanh is a poet who is attached to his hometown. The sadness in his poems is always pervasive and colorful. Every time he misses his hometown, he feels sad, but for almost his entire life he still has not been able to decipher the dream of his childhood: The river at the source flows downstream/But my heart flows upstream/Childhood is not easily lost/Forever taking refuge in the village fields ". Poet Nguyen Ngoc Hanh has 2 verses that many Quang Nam brothers far from home know by heart: " In the past, I lived in the village/Now the village lives in me ".

MC - poet Tran Mai Huong introduced the author of the poetry collection, her voice full of emotion: "With Nguyen Ngoc Hanh, sadness fossilizes, speaking into poetry. This is not only in the confession but also expressed in this entire collection of poems. The poem "Touching My Cup" opens the way for that lonely sadness: " Pour the night into this cup of wine/ Who knows if heaven and earth are as drunk as me ". A confession that is heartbreaking to the core with the tragedy of human life: " Pour into me a cup of wine that overflows/ Please raise your glass to the injustice of this life/ Who knows about a lifetime of confusion/ Pouring into the night brings restless days ". " A lifetime of being dependent on poetry/ How many more trips/ When, oh ferryman ", (Dependent). This verse is also the question that Nguyen Ngoc Hanh asked himself. "How many more trips" is unknown, only knowing that this Giap Thin spring, he carried the puberty of the Sun to Saigon with close friends in the warm, sunny weather of youth".

Indeed. Reading Puberty Sun , readers feel the sadness of being away from home in Nguyen Ngoc Hanh's poetry permeating both space and time; spreading from the small village by the peaceful Vu Gia River with a shaky childhood in the market town, drifting in the middle of life. Many of his poems about his youth have touched the hearts of readers: " Everyone has a youth/A time when he only loved someone, not dared to love himself/When his hair turned gray, he loved his childhood days/So now he loves late when he was still young ( Late )".

"During the days stuck in the US due to Covid-19, I accidentally met him online and the fate of the two brothers led to the birth of the song Ben Me . However, in order to prevent Hanh's... love of girls like mine from being revealed, when making the video, I put 10 girls appearing at the same time," musician Pham Dang Khuong revealed.

The book launch of poet Nguyen Ngoc Hanh lasted in the emotions between poetry and music, between the present and nostalgia and friendship, the lingering and profound love of poetry from Quang Nam, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

Poet Nguyen Ngoc Hanh signs new book for readers

Talking about the new work, as commented by poet Trieu Kim Loan: "The source of emotions in "The Sun of Puberty" by poet Nguyen Ngoc Hanh tends towards nostalgia to expose sadness, hold on, and a burning desire for love. Each slice of time is poured out by the poet. Those are afternoons filled with pain and sadness about the stumbling blocks and difficulties of life and love. In the emptiness, nostalgia is pushed up, carved into the "silent, sullen yellow sky", releasing loneliness into a calm sea day".
