Milestones of the Party In February 1930, an event of special significance to the history of our nation was the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam - an extremely important turning point in the history of the Vietnamese revolution, deciding the development of the nation. It was the result of the mobilization, development and unification of the revolutionary movement throughout the country; the meticulous preparation in all aspects of Leader Nguyen Ai Quoc and the unanimity of the pioneers for the interests of the class and the nation. Through the revolutionary process, the Party has led our people to one victory after another. Within only 15 years of its birth, our Party led the people to make the great August Revolution, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (1945), now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. In the next 30 years, the Party led the struggle for national liberation and reunification (1945 - 1975). With the correct and creative guidelines, our Party led the people to achieve the Dien Bien Phu victory that “resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world”, forcing the French colonialists to end their war of aggression against Vietnam. This was followed by the resistance war against the US, to save the country and build socialism. And a very important victory was the victory in the renovation process initiated and led by the Party from 1986 to the present. After nearly 40 years of renovation, we have achieved many important and meaningful achievements in the fields of politics, economics, culture, society, national defense, security, foreign affairs, and the people’s lives have been increasingly improved.Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Trong Phuc - former Director of the Institute of Party History ( Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics). Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Trong Phuc - former Director of the Institute of Party History (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics) - affirmed that, looking back at the historical journey, we must affirm that the Party's leadership is the leading factor determining the victory of the revolution. That leadership is demonstrated in the Party's correct platform and policies from 1930 to the present. The Vietnamese revolution over the past 94 years has gone from one victory to another to achieve today's achievements. We are determined to steer the revolutionary boat to success . This is also the opinion of many experts and scholars who have researched the revolutionary leadership process of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Those are the results, the great victories in the resistance war for national salvation and the achievements of the renovation initiated and led by our Party. Dr. Vu Van Bach (University of Politics, Ministry of National Defense ) pointed out the achievements of the renovation in the article "Protecting the Party - for the longevity, development of the nation, happiness of the people". According to Dr. Vu Van Bach, with the 1986 renovation policy, our Party opened a period of comprehensive national development. From a backward agricultural country, besieged and embargoed, with people's material and spiritual lives being extremely difficult, our country has now escaped the status of a poor, underdeveloped country, becoming a middle-income developing country. In 1986, our country's GDP reached about 8 billion USD, ranking 9/10 in the ASEAN bloc. From 1986 to 2022, Vietnam is in the top 5 countries with the largest economic growth in the world. According to the United Nations Report, Vietnam is one of the few countries to have completed the millennium goals early, including eliminating extreme poverty, universalizing primary education, enhancing gender equality and the status of women, and standards of public health care. Compared to many countries with the same economic scale, Vietnam has solved socio-economic problems better, economic growth is always associated with progress and social justice. According to Dr. Vu Van Bach, the achievements of today's revolutionary cause are the crystallization of the tradition of thousands of years of building and defending the country by our people with countless sacrifices and hardships. The document of the 13th National Party Congress affirmed: With all modesty, we can be completely proud that "our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as today". "The leadership of the Party is the leading factor deciding all victories of the Vietnamese revolution". The 13th National Party Congress also set out the vision and aspiration for the development of a prosperous and happy country: "Strive by the middle of the 21st century, our country will become a developed country, following the socialist orientation". "Although there are still countless difficulties and challenges, with its political mettle, intelligence, experience, prestige, and the wholehearted support of the people, our Party is determined to steer the Vietnamese revolutionary ship to the shore of glory," affirmed Dr. Vu Van Bach.Vuong Tran - Laodong.vn
