According to initial information, at 10am the same day, a man (identity unknown) entered the room at the Neonatal Department, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. Then, this person went to the hospital bed, picked up the babies, strangled them and tried to throw them out the window. Immediately, two medical staff of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Tran Thi Hong and Nguyen Thi Hong, both from the neonatal department, along with the patient's family, bravely stepped in to stop them, determined to protect the babies.
Immediately afterwards, this man used a weapon to attack two medical staff, the patient's family and the baby.

In a quick exchange with Nhan Dan Newspaper reporters, a representative of the leadership of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital said: Initially, it was determined that there were 2 nurses, 1 intern, 2 patient relatives and 2 children injured. Among them, the most seriously injured medical staff (stabbed multiple times in the chest, neck, shoulder, back) is undergoing emergency surgery at the Intensive Care Unit, Nghe An General Hospital.

Upon receiving the report, the police force quickly arrived, deployed professional measures, controlled and arrested the subject to investigate and handle according to the law.
Immediately after the incident, Director of Nghe An Department of Health Le Thi Hoai Chung and Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health Tran Minh Tue were present at Nghe An General Hospital to direct the emergency response and visit the victims. Nghe An General Hospital activated the red alert to rescue the victims.
Up to now, the hospital's examination and treatment work is going on normally. The case is still being verified and clarified.
