After the end of the 2024 admission application period, universities have basically grasped the total number of applications.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) recorded about 50,000 candidates registering their wishes, more than double that of last year.
MSc. Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center, said that this is a joy when HUIT is increasingly trusted and chosen by candidates, but it also puts more pressure on the admission process.
One of the reasons why the school attracts many candidates is because the tuition fee is only 29-33 million VND/year.
With this development, Mr. Son predicts that the admission score of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade based on the 2024 high school graduation exam score could be between 16-24 points.
Hot majors such as marketing, international business, logistics and supply chain have a benchmark score of around 23-24 points. Majors such as accounting, finance and banking, business administration, food technology, etc. are expected to have a benchmark score of 22-24, while some other majors have a benchmark score of 16-18 points.
Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said that the number of applications this year increased by about 15%, to more than 40,000 applications. Last year, the school recorded about 36,000 applications.
Some "hot" majors include: business, marketing, information technology, automation, law... The benchmark score is expected to increase slightly compared to last year.
Mr. To Van Phuong, Head of Training Department, Nha Trang University informed that the number of wishes increased by about 12%. Of which, 64.5% of candidates who were admitted early registered their wishes to the school on the Ministry's system.
In particular, the marine engineering industry is expected to increase its benchmark score because this is an engineering industry that has met the inspection standards, so the number has increased dramatically.
Majors such as English language, biotechnology, accounting, and hotel management are expected to increase by 0.5-1 points. For some other majors, the basic benchmark scores are stable because the academic transcript scores have increased.
Meanwhile, non-public schools said the number of applications only fluctuated slightly.
Gia Dinh University representative informed that the number of applications this year increased slightly, about 10% compared to last year. Some majors that attract candidates' interest in early admission are: Information technology, multimedia communications, marketing, law, business administration...

Ms. Tran Thuy Tram Quyen, Vice Principal of Hong Bang International University, shared that some majors that candidates are more interested in and choose are in the health, communications, technology groups... The reason is that in 2024, the school will apply a tuition-free policy for the first semester to create favorable conditions for students.
Meanwhile, the desire to enter Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) is basically stable.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said that HUTECH received nearly 30,000 admission requests, not much change compared to 2023. Therefore, the benchmark score is expected to fluctuate between 16-21.
As of 5:00 p.m. on July 30, the time the online registration portal was closed, more than 733,000 candidates entered their registration wishes through the Ministry of Education and Training portal, the highest in the past 3 years.
The above number of registrations, equivalent to 68.5% of the number of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam in 2024, is the highest in the past 3 years.
Specifically, in 2023, more than 660,000 candidates entered their admission wishes on the system, equivalent to 65.9% of the number of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam in 2023.
Previously, in 2022, the Ministry of Education and Training recorded more than 616,000 candidates registering for university entrance exams, accounting for 64.1% of the number of candidates registering for the 2022 high school graduation exam.
