Welcoming the delegation to visit and work in Vietnam, Mr. Phan Anh Son said that the Vietnam - Brazil relationship is developing strongly, demonstrated through regular meetings between the two countries' senior leaders at international and regional forums. The two countries' upgrading of relations to Strategic Partnership in 2024 is a clear demonstration of the stature of the bilateral relationship, opening up many prospects for cooperation.

According to Mr. Phan Anh Son, in addition to State diplomacy , parliamentary diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy play an indispensable role in deepening the relationship between the two countries. He expressed his appreciation for the solidarity that the Brazilian people have for Vietnam during the period of fighting for independence and national reunification. He pointed out five solid foundations of the relationship between the two countries: the establishment of a Strategic Partnership in 2024; a market potential of over 300 million people; good relations not only at the State level but also at the people's and parliamentary channels; large room for economic and trade cooperation, especially in Brazil's areas of strength; the strategic viewpoint of Brazilian leaders promoting Vietnam's role in ASEAN, promoting multilateral cooperation.
On that basis, he made five suggestions for cooperation, including: strengthening local connections, building sister relationships between provinces, cities and states of the two countries; promoting cooperation between the Vietnam - Brazil Friendship and Cooperation Association, the Vietnam - Brazil Friendship Parliamentarians Group with the Brazil - Vietnam Friendship Association (ABRAVIET) and the Brazil - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group; expanding youth exchanges, education and training cooperation, connecting universities; digitizing the Portuguese - Vietnamese dictionary for easy access by people of the two countries, thereby strengthening educational and linguistic connections; developing sports and cultural cooperation, especially football and performing arts - Brazil's strengths; expanding the network of partners in potential areas of cooperation.
Mr. Son said that in October 2025, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Brazil Friendship and Cooperation Association are expected to organize a delegation to visit Brazil, including a number of businesses and representatives of the Vietnam-Brazil Friendship Parliamentarians Group. The trip will combine people-to-people diplomacy, parliamentary cooperation and economic-trade promotion activities.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Márcio Honaiser affirmed that the visit demonstrates the Brazilian National Assembly's desire to strengthen relations with Vietnam. He highly appreciated the cooperation suggestions proposed by the President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, considering them as specific directions to develop bilateral relations substantially.
Mr. Honaiser outlined four priorities in the coming time: supporting the successful organization of the visit to Brazil of the Vietnam - Brazil Friendship and Cooperation Association in October 2025; promoting twinning between some localities of the two countries; enhancing cooperation between universities and research institutes, including the Brazilian Agricultural Research Agency (Embrapa); developing football through coach training, technology transfer, and competition exchanges.
He also said that the two countries still have a lot of potential for cooperation in food security and renewable energy, especially the production of wind and solar energy equipment - fields that are in line with Vietnam's development orientation and are also Brazil's strengths.
