On the evening of October 15, the Department of Education and Training of Tam Ky City ( Quang Nam ) announced that it had announced that students would be off school from tomorrow, October 16, to prevent heavy rain and flooding.
Specifically, the Department of Education and Training of Tam Ky City requested principals of schools in the city to let preschool, kindergarten, primary and secondary school students take a day off on October 16.
After October 16, school principals, depending on the actual situation in the locality, if they deem it necessary to continue to let students stay home from school to ensure safety, will report to the Department of Education and Training for monitoring and direction.
Many roads in Tam Ky city are deeply flooded due to heavy rain.
In addition, the Department of Education and Training of Tam Ky City requires that during the school break, schools need to inform parents and thoroughly instruct all students not to go near flooded areas, not to collect firewood, catch fish in rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, etc. to prevent drowning.
After the rain subsided and the water receded, schools and classrooms were urgently cleaned, teaching and learning were quickly stabilized, and absolute safety was ensured for students when they returned to school.
This evening, the Department of Education and Training of Phu Ninh and Que Son districts also issued a document allowing students to have a day off tomorrow, October 16.
In Phu Ninh District, students of kindergarten, primary and secondary schools are off school until further notice. In Que Son District, students in the three communes of Que Xuan 1, Que Xuan 2 and Que Phu are off school to avoid heavy rain and flooding because these areas are at risk of deep flooding.
School principals are assigned to monitor the development of floods and rains. If they find it necessary to let students stay home to ensure safety, they must promptly report and propose to the Department of Education and Training for monitoring and direction. At the same time, they must deploy measures to ensure the safety of facilities and equipment.
