Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Standing Vice Chairman, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with many local leaders, conquered the 5km run with 2,000 runners on the morning of May 7.
At 4:00 a.m., Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan - Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Tournament stood with a large group of 21km athletes preparing to start at Pham Van Dong Square. He shook hands with each runner standing in the first row and wished the runners good results in the first large-scale marathon tournament held in the province. Mr. Tuan participated in the 5km distance, which took place one hour after the 21km distance.
Joining Mr. Tuan were many local leaders, departments, branches, districts and cities. Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism participated in the 5km distance, Mr. Vo Phien - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport ran 10km. Mr. Tra Thanh Danh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai city ran 21km.

This is the first time local leaders have joined a marathon, joining 2,000 runners to conquer inner-city roads and Tra Khuc 1 bridge over Tra River. The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the weather was a bit hot, but thanks to the reasonable starting time, which was pushed up early, it was convenient for runners to compete and explore the beauty of Quang Ngai.
He believes that the Quang Ngai Marathon - BSR Cup 2023 is an interesting activity, playing an important role in promoting the running movement to improve health in the community, spreading the benefits of sports to the people, and at the same time promoting the image of local tourism to visitors. "For sports lovers, this is an opportunity for people to come closer together, a place to show their bravery, determination, and will of runners in every step. 2,000 runners have completed the race, surpassing themselves," said Mr. Tuan.
In addition to local leaders, the event on the morning of May 7 also attracted many runners who are leaders of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) and Oil and Gas units, BSR's partners such as Mr. Bui Ngoc Duong - General Director, Mr. Khuong Le Thanh - Member of the Board of Directors, Mr. Pham Minh Nghia - Deputy General Director, Mr. Tran Ngoc Nguyen - Chairman of the Board of Directors,... Previously, they had run many races across the country, but this was the first time they participated in the race with more than 700 BSR staff to celebrate the company's 15th anniversary.

We think the tournament will contribute to promoting the movement of physical exercise in the enterprise, a highlight for employees to love exercising more, improve health, and create positive energy", Mr. Pham Minh Nghia - Deputy General Director of BSR shared.
BSR has a growing sports movement. The company has established its own running group since 2019, with nearly 1,000 runners who are company leaders, heads and deputy heads of functional departments, and specialists, engineers, and workers participating in regular training.
Quang Ngai Marathon - BSR Cup 2023 is organized by the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province in coordination with Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) with the support of FPT Online Services Joint Stock Company (FPT Online).
In the first time organizing a major marathon, Quang Ngai province has prepared many aspects so that runners can compete in the best conditions. Not only is it a sports festival, the province also considers the tournament an opportunity to promote the image of local tourism. The organizing committee also awarded nearly 270 million VND in prizes to outstanding athletes.
