Kidney - the body's golden filter

In the program, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Phuong Thao emphasized that the kidney is the "golden filter" that helps the body eliminate toxins. However, signs of kidney failure are often silent and easily overlooked. Many young people today are undergoing dialysis or facing the risk of kidney failure without knowing it, due to unhealthy living habits, drug abuse or food of unknown origin.

"If you imagine the kidney as a waste filter of the body, then when this part is damaged, waste accumulates, the body will gradually be poisoned from the inside. Early detection and protection of the kidney from small things is important that everyone needs to be aware of," Dr. Thao shared.

Dr. Phuong Thao also recounted touching stories, such as a pregnant woman who was diagnosed with severe kidney failure in her 6th month of pregnancy but still had a safe delivery thanks to the interdisciplinary cooperation at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital; a young patient who once thought kidney disease was the end of his future, has now successfully started a business and inspired the community. The thank you letters and happy eyes of patients when they recover are the greatest gifts for those in the medical profession.

"There are countless things to tell. I think these are the 'good' things in the medical profession, which is full of difficulties and hardships. The recovery and happiness of patients are our priceless joy. And that is also the belief, hope, and positivity that should be spread to the community of other patients. Surely the treatment will be more effective," said Dr. Thao.

Doctors are relatives in the patient's healing journey.

From a communications perspective, Master Do Thi Nam Phuong shared that medical communications in the digital age are not only about delivering information to the public but also a "bridge of trust" between doctors and patients. When patients are in the midst of a sea of chaotic information - where truth and falsehood are mixed, what they need is not vague advice, but a voice of expertise.

"With timely advice and by spreading positive knowledge through media platforms, doctors are not only the ones who provide the right treatment regimens, bringing patients back to a healthy and happy life with their loved ones, but can also be the ones to connect, share vivid and humane stories, create communities, spread optimism and faith to other patients...", Master Nam Phuong commented.
