Nhon My commune receives certificate of recognition as a commune meeting new rural standards

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Nhon My Quang Commune Party Committee Le Hong Chuyen said: “The commune was established on the basis of merging 3 communes My Hoi Dong, Long Giang and Nhon My, with an area of 78.66 km ² , a population of 89,019 people, 54 affiliated grassroots party organizations, 1,293 party members. In the 2020 - 2025 term, the Commune Party Committee implemented 2 breakthroughs in promoting administrative reform, Nhon My commune is in the "Good Management" group of the district, upgrading infrastructure to serve the socio -economy, making Nhon My a new rural commune. Economic restructuring, infrastructure development has been improved; average income reached 85 million VND/person/year".

The Party Committee has identified the innovation of the Party's leadership method as an important task and has carried out it regularly, especially in directing and operating, organizing the implementation of local political tasks. The work of cadres and building cadre teams has been improved. Strengthening and building grassroots party organizations and improving the quality of party members in the new period; building party cells and party committees according to the "4 good" standards.

The Party Committee and the communal government closely and comprehensively lead and direct socio-economic development. Agricultural production has developed comprehensively, clearly shifting the crop structure towards increasing economic value and efficiency, bringing high economic efficiency to farmers. The commune has 4,918 hectares of agricultural production, 232.8 hectares of aquaculture; 12 codes for specialized rice growing areas, with a total area of 1,655.8 hectares, 2 codes for specialized mango growing areas, with an area of 133.9 hectares; 110 hectares of rice have achieved VietGAP certification.

The completed traffic, irrigation and dyke systems ensure irrigation and goods transportation, bringing positive effects in agricultural production management, natural disaster prevention and control. Industrial and handicraft production has developed stably. The commune has 99 brick production establishments, 13 acacia rope production establishments, 12 mechanical establishments, 3 boat and boat building establishments, 3 rice milling factories... Along with 3 craft villages producing acacia rope, household carpentry and weaving, with 377 households. Commercial and service activities have developed in scale and industries, with nearly 2,400 business households.

Nhon My is famous for its title of “Masters Village”. The locality maintains a ceremony to commend students who passed the college and university entrance exams and honor new PhDs, Masters, and Doctors from Nhon My. Up to now, the commune has 6 PhDs, 57 Masters and Specialist II Doctors and 1,266 new students. The socialization of investment in education has received attention, the commune mobilized nearly 3.6 billion VND to support students in difficult circumstances to continue going to school. The work of protecting and taking care of people's health has been improved. Under the strong leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the commune has completed 100% of the new rural criteria.

With a large scale in both area and population, Nhon My commune has many motivations and resources in terms of human resources, land, capital, etc. for development, especially high-tech agriculture, industry, and services. Projects are invested in and built, facilitating development in the direction of promoting small-scale industry, industry, high-tech agriculture, trade, and services; attracting businesses to invest in infrastructure construction projects, industrial clusters, trade, and services, etc.
