Currently a first-year Information Technology student at the Da Nang University branch in Kon Tum, Do Hoang Tu, born in 2005, residing in residential area 4, Quang Trung ward, has decided to temporarily suspend his studies to volunteer for military service.
Do Hoang Tu shared: "Wearing the green military uniform has been my dream since high school. When I received information about military service, I volunteered. The military environment helps to instill discipline; it's a great school where I can learn many things. I volunteered for military service, hoping to contribute my efforts to my homeland and country. After successfully completing my two years of service, I will continue my studies."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu, Tu's mother, expressed her joy and support for her son's decision. She said: "When we learned that he had volunteered for military service, the family encouraged him to fulfill his wish, preparing him mentally and everything else so that if he is selected, he can confidently join the army. We hope that in the military environment, he will become more mature and responsible."
Born into a farming family with many siblings and facing economic difficulties, A Nhạc (Kơ Năng village, Ngọc Bay commune, Kon Tum city) still wanted to join the military service, hoping to contribute a small part to the cause of protecting the Fatherland. Unlike the anxiety and nervousness of many people when thinking about the disciplined lifestyle and challenges in the military environment, A Nhạc was confident because his older brother, who had just completed his military service, had shared stories about life in the army.
A Nhạc shared: "When I returned from completing my military service, my older brother told me a lot about the environment in the army. I really liked it, so I volunteered to enlist. If I'm selected, I will try my best to study and train like my brother, contributing my efforts to protect the homeland."

In 2025, Ngoc Bay commune was assigned a quota of 14 young men for military service, of which 7 have volunteered. The local authorities have shown great concern for those young men from disadvantaged backgrounds who volunteered. Comrade Nguyen Hong Phong, Commander of the Ngoc Bay Commune Military Command, stated: “The Ngoc Bay Commune Military Service Council has focused on conducting investigations and reviewing the number of young men of military age, understanding the sentiments of the people, and coordinating efforts to promote the 2015 Military Service Law through various direct and indirect methods via information channels and social media. As a result, young people in the area have strictly complied with the law.”
To ensure successful recruitment, the City Military Council has instructed the commune and ward military service councils to intensify propaganda and dissemination of the new points of the Military Service Law; to educate on the local historical traditions; and to educate citizens about their rights and obligations in fulfilling their military service obligations. As a result, the awareness, consciousness, and responsibility of the people in implementing the Military Service Law have been raised, especially among citizens of military age.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Thanh, Deputy Commander of the Kon Tum City Military Command, stated: “This year, the health and quality of citizens enlisting in the military is relatively high, especially with many citizens voluntarily submitting applications. The Party Committee and the City Military Command have identified a breakthrough in the proportion of Kinh and ethnic minority individuals in this recruitment drive, aiming to balance the ratio with the population, ensuring it is between 40-60%. The unit continues to advise the City Military Service Council to conduct thorough review and verification of records to ensure the quality of this year's recruitment surpasses previous years.”
These volunteer applications demonstrate the gradually improving awareness and responsibility of citizens in fulfilling their military service obligations, and also show the effectiveness of many synchronized solutions in the recruitment work of the Military Service Councils at all levels and local departments, agencies, and organizations in the past period.
