Although he is a first-year student majoring in Information Technology at the University of Danang 's Kon Tum Branch, Do Hoang Tu, born in 2005, in residential group 4, Quang Trung ward, decided to temporarily stop studying to volunteer for military service.
Do Hoang Tu shared: Wearing the green army uniform has been my dream since high school. When I received information about military service, I volunteered. The military environment helps train discipline, and this is a big school that helps me learn many things. I volunteered to do military service, with the desire to contribute my part to my homeland and country. After completing 2 years of service, I will continue my next study program."
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu - Tu's mother was happy and supported her son's decision. She expressed: When she knew that her son had volunteered to join the military, her family encouraged her to fulfill her wish, prepared her mentally and everything so that if she was selected, she would feel secure in joining the army. Hopefully in the military environment, her son will be more mature and grown up.
Born into a farming family with many siblings and many economic difficulties, A Nhac (Kơ Năng village, Ngọc Bay commune, Kon Tum city) still wants to join the military service with the hope of contributing a small part to the cause of protecting the Fatherland. Unlike the anxiety and nervousness of many people when thinking about the disciplined lifestyle and challenges in the military environment, A Nhac was confided by his brother who had just completed his military service about life in the army, so he was very confident.
A Nhac confided: When I returned from military service, my brother told me a lot about the military environment. I really liked it so I volunteered to join the army. If I am accepted, I will try to study and train like my brother, contributing my efforts to protect the Fatherland.
In 2025, Ngoc Bay commune was assigned a target of 14 young men to join the army, of which 7 young men have volunteered to join. For young men with difficult circumstances who volunteered, the locality has paid much attention. Comrade Nguyen Hong Phong - Commander of the Military Command of Ngoc Bay commune said: "The Military Service Council of Ngoc Bay commune has focused on implementing steps to investigate and review the number of young men of military age, grasp the thoughts of the masses, thereby coordinating to promote the propaganda of the Law on Military Service 2015 in many direct and indirect forms through information channels as well as social networks, from which young men in the area have strictly complied".
In order to achieve good results in military recruitment, the City Military Council has deployed the Military Service Councils of communes and wards to promote propaganda and dissemination of new points of the Law on Military Service; educate on local historical traditions; rights and obligations of citizens in performing military service, thereby raising awareness, consciousness and responsibility of people in implementing the Law on Military Service, especially citizens of military age.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Thanh - Deputy Commander of Kon Tum City Military Command said: "This year, the health and quality of citizens joining the army is relatively high, especially many citizens have volunteered to join the army. The ratio of Kinh people and ethnic minorities in this military service is determined by the Party Committee and the City Military Command to create a breakthrough to balance the ratio compared to the population to ensure from 40 - 60%. The unit continues to advise the City Military Council to conduct procedures to review and review records, to ensure the quality of this year's military service is better than previous years."
The voluntary applications show that citizens' awareness and responsibility in performing military service have been gradually raised, and at the same time show the effectiveness of many synchronous solutions in military recruitment work of Military Service Councils at all levels and local departments, branches and organizations in recent times.
