29 Duc Thinh youths volunteered to join the army

In a tiled-roof house in Ngoc Lam village, Duc Thinh commune, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien could not hide her pride when her son Nguyen Nhu Huong (born 2007) volunteered to join the army in the 2026 recruitment campaign.

The family was a poor farmer, the eldest son was in the army, Mrs. Lien had planned for her youngest son to learn a trade and find a job near home to increase his income, but Huong chose to follow in his brother's footsteps and serve the Fatherland.

Duc Thinh Commune Military Command regularly cares about and propagates to citizens and families about military recruitment in 2026.

“When I saw my child express his desire to try his hand at training and striving to mature in the military environment, at first I was a bit worried, but then I felt joy and pride that he had matured, knew how to think, and knew how to choose his own path. I also encouraged him to try his best to complete the tests and selections to achieve his wishes,” said Ms. Lien.

Not only Huong, many young people of Duc Thinh commune have promoted their pioneering role, volunteering to join the army, demonstrating the initiative of the young generation in fulfilling their duty to the Fatherland.

Tran Xuan Dan (born in 2007, residing in Gia Thinh village, Duc Thinh commune) shared: “Ever since I was in school, I wanted to wear a soldier's uniform. Therefore, when I was qualified, I wrote an application to join the military service with the hope of having the opportunity to practice discipline and strive to develop myself in a military environment.”

Tran Xuan Dan's decision to volunteer for military service was supported by his parents and family.

In the 2026 military service recruitment round, Gia Thinh village has 96 young men of military age. After screening, 7 citizens were issued orders, among them, Tran Xuan Dan is the citizen who wrote a volunteer application to participate.

Mr. Phan Dinh Chien - Secretary of Gia Thinh village Party Cell shared: "As a unit with a large number of young people of military age, the village executive committee has closely coordinated with the Commune Military Command, Commune Police, organizations and unions to propagate and disseminate the rights and responsibilities of citizens in participating in military service. From there, there are appropriate orientations for the students to think carefully and maturely when making their decisions."

The case of Nguyen Duc Trong (born 2003, residing in Tuong Van village) is also a testament to the proactive and responsible spirit of Duc Thinh commune youth towards their homeland and country. Duc Trong is currently a third-year student at Vinh University of Technical Education ( Nghe An ). Due to family circumstances, he decided to temporarily put his studies on hold to "turn" to another path.

“For me, the military environment is a big school, where I am not only trained well in awareness and discipline but also in responsibility and sacred duty to the Fatherland. My decision has received support from my family, school and locality. Therefore, if I am accepted this time, I promise to strive to become a professional soldier in the future,” Trong said.

The support of organizations and unions contributes to arousing the initiative of the young generation in performing military service.

Up to the time of the order, Duc Thinh commune has 29 young people who have volunteered to join the army, of which 19 volunteered to join the military service and 10 volunteered to join the people's police service. The confidence and initiative of Duc Thinh youth not only shows the spirit of readiness for the common mission of Gen Z citizens but also shows the effectiveness of propaganda work and effective implementation of recruitment activities at the grassroots level.

Mr. Dinh Van Sam - Commander of Duc Thinh Commune Military Command informed: "Immediately after operating the 2-level local government, Duc Thinh Commune Military Service Council has developed a plan, reviewed, and advised the local Party Committee and government to seriously implement the military recruitment steps in 2026. Thanks to that, most citizens of the right age are clearly aware of their responsibilities and obligations in peacetime.

In addition, citizens and their families are thoroughly informed about policies and benefits when participating in military service such as: emergency hardship allowances, free health insurance cards for relatives; allowances during military service and upon discharge; vocational training and job placement regimes... Therefore, the whole commune recorded a very high number of voluntary applications to join the army.

Applications for military service volunteering demonstrate the responsibility of youth to the Fatherland.

It is known that in the 2026 military recruitment, Duc Thinh commune was assigned the target of 41 official citizens and 1 reserve citizen to participate in military service and public security service. Up to now, Duc Thinh is one of the top units in the province in terms of the number of young people volunteering to join the army. The volunteer applications continue the tradition of patriotism and dedication of the youth of Duc Thinh commune in particular and Ha Tinh in general on the journey to serve and protect the Fatherland.
