The funny story began last week, when two thieves broke into an abandoned house near 74th Street and Silver Spring Drive in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - USA.
The thieves took several items worth thousands of dollars, including a security camera. The thieves claimed that by taking the camera, the homeowner would not be able to provide evidence to the police.
However, the thieves forgot to turn off the camera. Therefore, the homeowner not only saw the entire burglary but also saw what the thieves did for the next 8 days.

Real estate agent Erica Winship said the home was in the process of being renovated for sale when the theft occurred.
" A thief takes the camera and puts it in his pocket. They don't realize it can work almost anywhere. Then they take it home and put it on the dining room table, and everything they do is seen," Winship, who has seen some of the footage, told WISN.
For the next week, many people could still see inside the house of the two thieves, even clearly see the faces of the two thieves because the camera was still running.
"I saw them talking about selling the stolen items and how they were going to spend the money," Winship said. She also told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal that the thieves used drugs and talked about their deals.

After days of witnessing the thieves' actions and conversations, Winship reported it to the police. She commented: "It was like an episode of the world's stupidest criminals."
Winship said the damage to the home cost her extra money and delayed repairs by two to three weeks.
Eight days after the theft, Winship confirmed that the camera had been destroyed. Milwaukee police said they were still investigating but had not yet made any arrests, WISN reported on March 22.
According to Arlo - the surveillance camera brand that homeowners use, such wireless cameras can continue recording for 3-6 months before stopping.
