Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark (GGP) is one of three global geoparks in Vietnam, spanning 6 districts and cities with an area of about 4,700 m2.
5 unique volcanoes
Dak Nong UNESCO Geopark is a mysterious volcanic system that has not been fully discovered and is a unique geological tourism product on the plateau. The system of 5 craters, including both positive and negative volcanoes, is where the geological tectonic history of the earth's crust is preserved, imprinted on this land.

Among them, Nam Blang volcano (a national scenic spot) is the only volcano that creates a massive volcanic cave system in the Krong No district. To date, scientists have surveyed and measured nearly 50 caves with a total length of more than 10,000 m.
Notably, C7 Cave (1,266 m) is the longest lava cave in Southeast Asia, with a unique geological structure, and C6.1 Cave is the only volcanic cave in the world (to date) with traces of prehistoric inhabitants from 6,000 to 3,000 years ago. The combination of geological, cultural and archaeological values creates a rare difference compared to other volcanic systems in the world.
During the research, the survey teams discovered archaeological remains of prehistoric people living in the volcanic cave area of the park dating back 6,000 - 3,000 years ago. The archaeological remains discovered include stone tools, raw stones and disc-shaped stone tools, short axes, flake tools, flakes, stones, grinding stones, etc.
Most recently, survey teams discovered a number of new caves, such as: T66 cave, T22 cave, Ta Dung 1 cave and an unnamed cave with high aesthetic and archaeological value. Among them, many stone artifacts were also discovered, including labor tools, pottery, bones and mollusk shells...
In April 2024, during the excavation of village 8 site in villages 7 and 8 of Dak Wil commune (Cu Jut district), researchers and scientists discovered more than 1,000 artifacts dating back about 4,500 years.

New discoveries of heritage in the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark play an important role in orienting tourism development and preserving local heritage. Currently, Dak Nong province is seriously implementing measures to preserve landscapes, geological and cultural values.
Land of Melodies
Dak Nong is a land where 40 ethnic groups live together, including ethnic groups that have lived for a long time, such as: M'nong, Ma, Ede. They have contributed to preserving many valuable tangible and intangible cultural values, such as: Ot N'rong epic , ancient stone instruments, Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space - Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, along with folk festivals, traditional crafts, and historical relics.
The cultural traditions of ethnic groups are also expressed through folk songs, traditional musical instruments such as gongs, lithophones, etc. and indigenous knowledge, reflecting the harmonious relationship between humans and nature. These unique cultural elements have contributed to the formation of typical destinations in the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark, such as: Sound Exhibition House, Stone Temple, Sacred Tree, M'nong Weaving Village, etc.
