In recent days, in the border area of ​​Na Ngoi commune (Nghe An province), the temperature has dropped below 0 degrees Celsius, causing dense frost in many areas.

Major Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Political Commissar of Na Ngoi Border Guard Station, Nghe An Border Guard, said that on November 29-30, low temperatures caused frost to cover the area of ​​Buoc Mu Border Control Station and the unit's vegetable garden.

Faced with the harsh weather, the Nghe An Border Guard force of the units stationed on the border have deployed many measures to prevent and combat the cold for soldiers; sent officers to the area to propagate and support people in covering their houses and livestock barns to keep warm, ensuring the health and safety of people and livestock. The Education and Training Department of Nghe An province also directed schools in the highland communes to implement measures to ensure the safety of students in the cold weather.

According to the local authorities of Na Ngoi commune, not only at the Buoc Mu Border Control Station, frost was also recorded in many other locations and places. Frost appeared densely, covering trees and grass in large areas. Along the road in many highland villages, snow and ice "dyed" low bushes and grass in white. The time when frost appeared strongly was from the night before until dawn the next day. At about 9 o'clock when the sun appeared, the ice began to melt gradually.

Considered one of the “top” areas of the western mountainous region of Nghe An province, the villages of Na Ngoi border commune are concentrated at the foot of the Puxai mountain range with Puxailaileng peak at an altitude of more than 2,700m above sea level. This is the highest mountain peak in Nghe An province and the highest in the North Truong Son range - the natural boundary between Vietnam and Laos. Na Ngoi has more than 90% of the population being Mong ethnic people.
