On July 7, the Voronezh region, Russia, was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Russian media reported that the attack targeted a warehouse, said Alexander Gusev, the governor of the same Voronezh region.

According to TASS news agency, on the Telegram application, Governor Alexander Gusev stated that a state of emergency has been declared in a district of Podgorensky district, where the UAV attack took place at night. So far, explosive devices continue to detonate.

One of the explosions led to a fire in a warehouse of a residential house. The fire has been extinguished and “there are no casualties,” Mr. Gusev said on the Telegram messaging app, adding that some residents in the Podgorensky district of the region were being evacuated.

The official also said that functional forces were present at the scene to carry out their duties. "A section of the highway running through a densely populated area has been blocked. People are being evacuated to temporary accommodation centers. Department staff and mobile forces are working at the scene," he said.

“They stored surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles, shells for tanks and artillery, and ammunition for guns,” a Ukrainian security official said, according to ABC News . “It is from this warehouse that the Russians supply ammunition to their troops in Ukraine,” he said.

The Russian Defense Ministry did not mention the attack at its morning press briefing, but said air defense systems had destroyed a Ukrainian UAV over the Belgorod region. The ministry only confirmed that a Russian Iskander ballistic missile system had destroyed two Patriot air defense missile launchers and the Zhiraf radar in Ukraine's Odessa region.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated: "The crew of the Iskander operational-tactical complex delivered a targeted attack on the Patriot air defense missile complex of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Yuzhnoye residential area of the Odessa region. As a result, two Patriot complex launchers and the Zhiraf radar station were completely destroyed."

Ukraine has not yet commented on the above information.

Authorities in Russia’s Krasnodar region said on July 6 that a fire had also broken out at an oil depot caused by falling debris from a drone. Russian emergency services said the fire had been extinguished by the morning of July 7.

The airstrikes came after a Ukrainian military spokesman told the Associated Press on July 5 that Kiev troops had withdrawn from a neighborhood on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar, a strategically important town in Ukraine’s Donetsk region that has been reduced to rubble following a month-long Russian offensive.
