To ensure state budget revenue, Thai Nguyen Customs focuses on operating under a new organizational model of centralized customs clearance and promoting reform of customs legal institutions towards modernity, synchronization, unity and transparency. At the same time, it strengthens inspection and supervision of customs procedures, tax management, post-clearance inspection, internal inspection, and the fight against smuggling and trade fraud.
Accordingly, Thai Nguyen Customs has implemented many solutions to ensure state management of import and export activities; reduce time and simplify administrative procedures. The entire unit has promoted electronic tax collection and 24/7 customs clearance.
The Customs Department also signed a collection coordination agreement with banks to implement the collection service, creating favorable conditions for businesses to pay taxes anytime, anywhere. Strictly implement the regulations on commitment assessment forms in the Customer Service Declaration for customs declarants and taxpayers to evaluate and give comments.

Along with modernization, Thai Nguyen Customs has strengthened control over quantity, weight, type, name of goods, and tax policies to identify key groups of goods and items with high risks in declaration. From there, businesses with high risks in import and export activities are put into yellow and red channels to conduct inspections at the customs clearance stage, preventing fraud and tax evasion.
Currently, there are 335 enterprises participating in customs procedures during the period. The main export items in the province include: Mobile phones, tablets, smart wearable devices, solar energy products, plastic floor panels, garment products, medical instruments... and industrial products from various minerals.
Imported goods include: Machinery and equipment to create fixed assets; electronic components for the production of mobile phones and high-tech products; raw materials for garment processing; supplies for the production of solar energy equipment, medical instruments, and other supplies for production...
Thanks to the synchronous implementation of professional measures according to regulations to strengthen customs value management both during and after customs clearance, Thai Nguyen Customs has prevented and promptly handled cases of unreasonable value declaration for fraud and tax evasion.
Thereby, the unit has focused on good management of export goods with high tax rates such as raw minerals, scrap metals; imported goods are consumer goods with high import and export taxes, goods with special consumption tax or self-defense tax, anti-dumping tax, etc.

Along with drastic measures to complete the budget collection plan, Thai Nguyen Customs also strengthened the control and handling of customs law violations. In the first 6 months of the year, Thai Nguyen Customs issued 32 records with a total fine of over 49 million VND.
The main violations are: Failure to re-export goods within the registration deadline; violation of the deadline for customs declaration for on-site import declarations; incorrect declaration of import goods codes...
According to statistics from Thai Nguyen Customs, the declaration results and turnover in the first 6 months of 2025 were 113,912 registered declarations. The total export and import turnover from January 1 to June 30 reached 25.1 billion USD, of which export turnover was 15.5 billion USD and import turnover was 9.6 billion USD. The state budget revenue was 1,464 billion VND, equal to 54.2% of the assigned legal target and equal to 114% compared to the same period in 2024.
To promote import and export activities and increase revenue for the State budget, Thai Nguyen Customs is developing customs-business partnerships. Building and implementing programs with the participation of import and export enterprises and their trading partners in the supply chain. This is the basis for Thai Nguyen Customs to strive to exceed the target of 2,900 billion VND in 2025.
