Speaking at the Program, Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong expressed his sincere thanks to the armed forces. He emphasized: In the most difficult times, Thai Nguyen always received the attention of the leaders of the Party, the State, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, departments, ministries, branches, localities and organizations and individuals nationwide. In particular, the armed forces were present in a timely manner, supporting rescue and overcoming the consequences in the shortest time. In the hardship, many examples of soldiers who sacrificed themselves to save people and property for the people shone. After the storm, the spirit of solidarity and revolutionary tradition continued to be the fulcrum for Thai Nguyen to restore production, stabilize life and complete socio -economic development goals.

Proactive, cooperative, serving the people

While storm No. 11 was still offshore, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command proactively reviewed and developed response plans, closely coordinating with local Party committees, authorities and mass organizations.

Colonel Ngo Tuan Anh, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, said: The armed forces promote the "4 on-the-spot" motto in responding to floods and storms, establishing command posts at key points to closely direct each situation. For soldiers, natural disaster prevention is a combat mission in peacetime, it is both a responsibility and an honor.

According to statistics, during the recent flood, the whole province mobilized 28 army units, more than 50 militia units with nearly 49,117 officers and soldiers and 1,320 vehicles. The army evacuated 3,463 households from dangerous areas, reinforced more than 3.5km of dykes, repaired more than 2,000 landslides and flooding points on national highways, provincial roads and more than 1,000 inter-commune roads; collected more than 68,000 tons of waste, cleaned 4,200 roads, 150 schools, 10 medical facilities and supported more than 12,000 affected households.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Cao Van Vien, Deputy Political Commissar of Brigade 210 (Military Region 1), every day the unit sends more than 400 officers and soldiers to directly participate in overcoming floods. "We braved the rain and floods, worked continuously for many days, with the highest determination to complete the task. When we saw that people were safe and schools were gradually restored, all the hardships became small" - Lieutenant Colonel Cao Van Vien shared.

Along with the Army, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police also demonstrated the spirit of “forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people” throughout the days of flood. The Provincial Police Director mobilized 100% of officers and soldiers on duty to respond, with more than 15,000 people and 3,000 vehicles participating in rescue and overcoming the consequences. Hundreds of officers and soldiers could not return in time to help their families even though their houses were damaged; preliminary statistics showed that more than 700 houses of police officers were severely affected by the storm.

From directing traffic, evacuating people from flooded areas, removing fallen trees to blocking bridges, the police force is always present at key points, together with the army and militia to form a solid "shield" in the middle of the flood. They keep people safe, ensure security and order, prevent crime, and support the quick and correct distribution of relief goods.

Command from the heart

During these difficult days, the image of Army and Police soldiers appeared amidst the mud and floodwater, carrying hoes on their shoulders and shovels in their hands, wading in the rain, carrying old people on their backs, helping children, and moving bags of relief goods. They shared meals, slept in temporary shelters, and worked all night without rest.

On Gia Thu 4 dike (belonging to Ha Chau dike, Van Xuan ward), army and police forces coordinated to reinforce the cracked structure amid heavy rain. In wards such as Phan Dinh Phung, Linh Son, Quan Trieu..., hundreds of soldiers participated in clearing the flow, rescuing many households from isolation. In the downstream area of Cau river, traffic police and militia forces were on duty 24/7, ensuring safety for relief convoys entering flooded areas.

During the rainy and flood days, Thai Nguyen police force rescued and assisted in moving over 2,000 people out of danger zones.

That spirit is the continuation of the tradition of “Uncle Ho’s Army” and “People’s Public Security serving the people” - two forces sharing the same ideal and goal of protecting a peaceful life. Helping people in natural disasters is not only a duty, but also a command from the heart. Dozens of tons of relief goods were transported and delivered to the people. Many soldiers were both porters and spiritual support, encouraging people to quickly overcome their loss.

At the farewell, many people were moved to express their gratitude. Mr. Nguyen Van Hang, in Tan Thanh 2 residential group, Linh Son ward, said: You guys ate instant noodles, slept in shacks, and worked day and night with the highest sense of responsibility. Looking at you guys, we feel warm inside.

Spreading affection, strong faith

After the storm and flood, when the water receded, the Army and Police units remained to help people clean up trash, clean schools, disinfect the environment, and provide guidance on resuming production. In remote areas, the army built temporary bridges for students to go to class, and the police helped people rebuild their houses. Each task demonstrated the spirit of serving the people, joining hands to bring life back to normal.

Youth Union members and women's union members of the Provincial Police Department took the initiative to clean up and sanitize agencies and units.

The bond between the army and the people is further strengthened through simple actions. Many soldiers left Thai Nguyen with the nostalgia of the people. Images of soldiers helping students cross the spillway, police carrying old people through floodwaters, the two forces working together with people to reinforce dikes, rebuild roofs... spread strongly on social networks, creating beautiful symbols of solidarity and compatriotism in difficult times.

Beyond the meaning of a rescue operation, this is also a vivid demonstration of the power of "people's hearts", where trust, responsibility and humanity become one. When natural disasters challenge people, humanity turns into strength. Tens of thousands of officers and soldiers, along with tens of thousands of people's hands, have contributed to rapid recovery, minimizing damage and stabilizing life. In difficult times, the bond between the armed forces becomes stronger, showing the endogenous strength of a united and affectionate locality.

From the practical experience of responding to storm No. 11 and the floods after the storm, it can be affirmed that the armed forces always take on two important responsibilities: protecting the Fatherland and being the core in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. In any difficult place, they are always present with a spirit of resilience, responsibility and humanity.

The storm has passed and the water has receded, but the footprints of soldiers and police officers are still imprinted on the muddy roads. They have passed, leaving behind the peace of mind and gratitude of the people. These contributions have helped Thai Nguyen to soon stabilize life, spreading the strength of the Vietnamese spirit of solidarity, humanity, and humanity.

The day the Army and Police left Thai Nguyen, the people still felt nostalgic. The mark they left behind was not only the restored works, but also the trust and warmth spreading in every house and street. The image of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers - People’s Police serving the people” became a vivid symbol of the spirit of responsibility, compatriotism and Vietnamese will in all circumstances.

The difficult days will eventually pass, but the lessons of unity, discipline and loyalty that the armed forces left behind will continue to be multiplied in social life. From this flood, Thai Nguyen has another vivid proof that the greatest strength does not lie in material things, but in people's hearts, in faith, love and aspiration to rise up. That is also the foundation for each locality and each individual to be more steadfast in the face of challenges, joining hands to build an increasingly strong and peaceful country.
