Contrary to what many people think, the quality of studio equipment is not the first thing to consider when talking about the appeal of a studio. With 13 years of experience in this field, Mr. Duong Anh Tam - Owner of Anh Tam Studio (41B Quyet Tien Cooperative, Thang Loi Ward) said: The sound quality and the skills of the KTV are the main factors that make up the "brand" of the studio, then comes the quality of the equipment.

Before returning to Gia Lai to work 8 years ago, Mr. Tam had a fairly successful time with his recording studio business in Ho Chi Minh City. The professionalism and meticulousness gained from his days studying at Gia Lai Intermediate School of Culture and Arts (now Gia Lai College), then learning more about recording and mixing music in Ho Chi Minh City brought him the opportunity to collaborate with many famous names.
They are famous singer Giao Linh, singers Quach Thanh Danh, Lam Chan Huy, Khuu Huy Vu, Dong Phuong Tuong... Singers can come to the place to record or send pre-recorded vocals and beats (background music) for KTV to support mixing and mastering.
Mr. Tam explains: In music production in general and studio techniques in particular, in addition to getting good "input" quality (vocals), mixing and mastering are two important processes in audio post-production to create a high-quality music track.
If mixing technique is the combination of music beat, vocals, adding some suitable effects... then mastering is the final process to help complete the product, adjust the volume, increase the echo, brightness of the vocals... Although it must comply with certain parameters, this is still a job with a strong personal creativity.

To do this, the studio owner and recording studio technician must have a good ear for music and a good knowledge of music theory to “play the cards” for the recorder. According to Mr. Tam, not only professional singers, the studio’s customers are also pure music enthusiasts who want to have vocal recordings as souvenirs.
“Practicing” each sentence and each word will help these customers pronounce better, with the right rhythm, beat, pitch… to perfect the product. Depending on the price and the requirements for the professionalism of the product, the KTV will spend about 1-2 days to a whole week on each song. It can be said that a studio KTV is no different from a chef, the difference between a good or bad dish is just a little bit in the way the spices are seasoned.
Although providing services, for those who consider music as a way of life, sometimes profit is not everything. Mr. Tam recalls: There was once a customer who booked a recording session at his studio and enthusiastically transferred the fee in advance. But when it came to work, he realized that his singing voice was not up to par, making it difficult to create a complete, quality song. Mr. Tam invited the customer to discuss privately, returned the fee and arranged another collaboration, which made the customer very grateful. "It's not enough to just record randomly for money, regardless of whether the customer sings wrongly or not well," said Mr. Tam.
Although Thien Anh Studio (15 Bui Dinh Tuy) has only been launched about 2 months ago, it has already become well-known. Mr. Nguyen Duc Ha - Studio owner, who has 15 years of experience in the art field - shared: Initially, he invested in the studio to facilitate his work. After that, he decided to provide services to professional singers and music lovers, businesses, and local organizations.

“This is a job that requires the KTV to be very professional, meticulous, and hard-working. At most, I can only record a few complete songs a day, depending on the quality of the singer. There are people who are passionate about singing who come to record a song as a souvenir or the bride and groom record to confidently sing to each other on stage… Most of these customers are not sure about the beat, some even pronounce the local language, so I have to guide them to record over and over again, sometimes it takes 30 minutes to record only 2 sentences,” said Mr. Ha.
In addition, Mr. Ha also skillfully uses mixing and mastering techniques to help perfect the beauty of the work. He gives an example: "Some people when recording take a breath too hard, sing a line that is a bit off beat, or the sound of a fan accidentally gets into the music, the KTV has to recognize it and handle it.
This profession requires meticulousness and sensitivity but still retains the emotions and vibrations of the singer, making the music sound very natural and emotional. Not to mention, with each different music genre, the mixing and mastering methods are also different. Remix music, pop music, rap music require many effects. On the contrary, folk music and chamber music need to retain the most rustic things.
Quietly standing behind the success of the songs, studio KTVs often create in solitude and silence. Sometimes, to meet their appointments with customers, they work all night, with only the computer screen and the clicks of the mouse beside them. "They have to trade off a lot of time and health. But in return, when mixing and mastering a song, feeling the melody resonate smoothly is the greatest reward" - Mr. Ha shared about his creative and attractive job.
Often choosing to “trust” Thien Anh studio, singer Y Sihs (Provincial Border Guard Command) happily commented: “Nguyen Duc Ha is a professional, has a youthful and modern musical mindset, so his music editing is also very good. Ha’s studio caters to a variety of musical styles, from chamber music to youth music, Central Highlands music, so I often come to record there.”
Mr. Le An Ninh (Ia Dom commune, Duc Co district), a Forest Ranger with a great passion for music, is also a familiar singer at this studio. Unlike other customers, Mr. Ninh often comes to record songs he composed, on many topics.
“At first, I planned to record outside the province, but unexpectedly found Mr. Ha’s studio. This is a studio that meets quality standards. In addition, I also received enthusiastic and professional support from him to complete the product,” Mr. Ninh excitedly said.
Meanwhile, freelance singer Rcom Mar Tin (village 8, Ia Bang commune, Dak Doa district) often chooses Anh Tam studio to record his favorite songs and post them on his personal YouTube channel.
Mar Tin chatted: “Mr. Tam is a professional and knows how to support, so the recording was quite fast. The recording quality is better than other places I have tried, everyone praised the recording as very good. These songs when posted on YouTube often receive a lot of interactions.”
