The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day is a particularly important political event on a national scale. Accordingly, many solemn activities such as: the air force's welcome flight, drum performances, large-scale military parades, and art programs praising the homeland, the country and the sacrifices of previous generations.
Sharing with VietNamNet, People's Artist Quoc Hung said that in the national celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day held in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of April 30, he and People's Artist Ta Minh Tam will sing together in the opening part of the program, opening the grand parade.

Two artists, one from the North - People's Artist Quoc Hung (bass male voice), one from the South - People's Artist Ta Minh Tam (tenor voice) will stand on a car decorated with colorful flags and move with the parade through Le Duan Street. Both will perform two songs: The Country is Full of Joy (composer Hoang Ha) and The Color of Red Flowers (composer Thuan Yen).
''It is a great honor for me to sing with People's Artist Ta Minh Tam in this sacred event. Even more special, we were both awarded the title of People's Artist in 2019 and now we share the same mission, singing together in this historic moment of the nation," People's Artist Quoc Hung expressed.
For People's Artist Quoc Hung, these moments are even more meaningful when associated with the memory of his father - a revolutionary soldier who fought for more than 10 years at the Khe Sanh front, Quang Tri . He returned with many serious injuries and passed away at the age of 43, when Quoc Hung was only 13 years old.

On April 27, People's Artist Quoc Hung and People's Artist Ta Minh Tam attended the State-level rehearsal. People's Artist Quoc Hung emotionally said: ''I woke up at 3am and saw that Saigon seemed to have no night. People stood in the streets, carrying raincoats and mats to wait to watch the rehearsal. Witnessing that passionate patriotism, I could not hold back my tears''.
People's Artist Quoc Hung was born in 1970 in Dong Anh, Hanoi, and has a bass voice. He won the First Prize in the National Chamber Music Competition in 2000 and the Golden Cup at the Pyongyang Spring International Music Festival (North Korea) in 2004. He defended his PhD thesis in music in 2017 and published a research paper on Training opera singers in Vietnam.
Many of People's Artist Quoc Hung's students are familiar faces in the performing arts world today, such as Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung (First Prize of Sao Mai 2003), Meritorious Artist Truong Bac (Deputy Director of the Vietnam Music and Dance Theater). He is currently the Deputy Director in charge of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
