Meritorious Artist Ha Phuong tells about the reader of the Victory News on April 30, 1975.
In the special art and political program Triumphant Song organized by Voice of Vietnam Radio on the evening of April 25 at the Hanoi Opera House, Journalist and Meritorious Artist Ha Phuong recounted his and his colleagues' feelings when they received the victory news at noon on April 30, 1975.
As one of the announcers who directly worked and witnessed the special working atmosphere at the Voice of Vietnam Radio Station's Public Address Room at 39 Ba Trieu Street ( Hanoi ) on the historic day of April 30, 1975, his sharing brings a realistic and intimate perspective on that important moment.
At the age of 84, although his memory is no longer intact over time, Meritorious Artist Ha Phuong affirms that he cannot forget the great days of the nation and the country. He recounts the "24/7 on-duty" working atmosphere of the Voice of Vietnam radio announcers in the final days of the resistance war.
They eat and sleep in their office, which is only about 15 square meters, without leave or compensatory time off, and are on duty day and night to update and broadcast war news. Especially the "breaking news" - extremely important news, without jingle, without introduction, read directly on the air as soon as the information reaches them.
Fully aware of the historical importance of that moment, the leader of the station at that time - Mr. Tran Lam - requested the selection of the best voices, typically Announcer Nguyen Tho with his powerful commentary voice and especially Announcer Tuyet Mai - who Meritorious Artist Ha Phuong affirmed that until now no one can replace her in terms of female voice quality.
It was those golden voices that had the honor of making the historic victory news on April 30, 1975, along with the commentary written by comrade Tran Phuong.
