On the afternoon of June 1, the Association for the Protection of the Rights of Vietnamese Performing Artists (APPA) officially opened its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City. The event was attended by the Association’s President – People’s Artist Thanh Hoa and many famous artists in the Vietnamese music industry.
Speaking at the ceremony, People's Artist Thanh Hoa emphasized: "Opening a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City is an important step in protecting the rights of performing artists, especially in the Southern region. We wish to create a common home where artists can find the necessary support and protection in their artistic activities."

The ceremony was also attended by famous artists such as: People's Artist Thu Hien, People's Artist Thanh Ngoan, Musician Tran Huu Bich, People's Artist Dang Hung, Artist Kim Ha, Artist Nghiem Thu, singer Phuong Trang, Musician Tran Van Muoi... along with many singers, musicians, and music producers in Ho Chi Minh City, showing strong support for APPA's mission.

The Association for the Protection of Rights of Vietnamese Music Performing Artists (APPA) is a professional social organization operating on a voluntary, non-profit basis, under the professional direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Representing and protecting the legal rights of performing artists, especially in collecting and distributing remuneration from activities of exploiting and using artists' performance products on media and digital platforms; Providing legal advice and supporting artists: The organization acts as a bridge between artists and authorities in cases related to intellectual property rights, remuneration disputes, illegal exploitation of performance works... and building artist data: APPA is developing a database system to manage, look up and store information on performance activities, thereby making the calculation and payment of remuneration to artists transparent.

People's Artist Thanh Hoa also emphasized: "In addition, we also train and connect the community by organizing training courses, seminars on related rights, as well as exchange programs connecting artists, producers and units using audio and video recordings."
The representative office in Ho Chi Minh City will be the place to receive support requests from artists in the Southern region, organize professional activities and connect the local music performance community.

The opening of the APPA Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City marks an important milestone in the effort to spread awareness of related rights and gradually professionalize music performance activities in Vietnam.

APPA has established the Center for Preservation of Traditional Vietnamese Performing Arts, directed by People's Artist Thanh Ngoan.
She said: "The Center for Preservation of Traditional Vietnamese Performing Arts carries an important responsibility in the journey of preserving and promoting national cultural values, while actively preserving and spreading the quintessence of art to future generations and internationally.
Traditional Vietnamese performing arts are priceless treasures, crystallized from thousands of years of history and the unique identity of the nation. From ca tru, cheo, tuong, cai luong to hat xoan, quan ho…, each art form carries the breath of the country, the love of homeland and the desire to live of the Vietnamese people.
However, in the constant flow of time, those values are facing many challenges, fading away, forgetting... requiring artists to act promptly and effectively.
The birth of the Center is necessary, a place that will be a bridge between the past and the present, a place to preserve, research and teach the quintessence of traditional art.
At the same time, People's Artist Thanh Ngoan said he will make continuous efforts to bring traditional art forms to domestic and international audiences through performances, seminars and diverse cultural exchange activities in Ho Chi Minh City and many provinces across the country.
People's Artist Thanh Hoa said that in June the Association will establish the 19-5 Performing Arts Center for senior artists who have been awarded the titles of People's Artist, Meritorious Artist, People's Artist, and Meritorious Artist by the State; and in December it will establish the Global Arts and Culture Center in Japan for the Vietnamese community around the world .
