Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long carries out his mother's last wish

Following his deceased mother's last wish, for many years now, at the end of January, Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long has carried out a charity program for the poor in his hometown - Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province.

These days, Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long is busy preparing for the program Welcoming Spring to the Homeland in Trung Thanh Tay Commune, Vung Liem District, Vinh Long Province (to take place on the evening of February 25). He will give gifts to 1,000 poor people including 10 tons of rice and other necessities. Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long said: "This is the fourth time I have organized this charity program in my hometown according to my mother's wishes. She often told me that when I become famous, I should support my hometown people within my ability, especially by bringing songs back to serve them after tiring working hours. I will carry out this program periodically once a year when economic conditions and health allow."

According to Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long, this 4th time coincides with the 100th day of the death of "Tiny Girl" Kim Tieu Ly - adopted daughter of Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long, so he also wants to dedicate merit to his adopted daughter. Because during his lifetime, any charity program that Kim Tieu Long's adoptive father organized, Kim Tieu Ly also accompanied.

Last Lunar New Year, Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long returned to the US to celebrate Tet with his small family. At the same time, he also performed across the states for overseas Vietnamese: "Thanks to the recent tours and shows, I have the funds to bring back to Vietnam to carry out this charity program." For him, being an artist doing social charity work is to make life more beautiful.

During this trip back home, besides performing for troupes according to the pre-arranged schedule, Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long will make some music videos for himself.
