VNA General Director Vu Viet Trang stated: In the current period, with the strong development of digital technology and the diversity of media products applying technology, press agencies have the opportunity to innovate, create, and provide information to the public faster and more attractively. However, there are also challenges to retain the public and orient public opinion in the face of multi-dimensional information flows. VNA has performed well the function of a national news agency, providing timely news information in various forms to the domestic and foreign media system. News reporters are always proactive, responsible, and ready to be present in areas affected by natural disasters, storms, floods, or war zones to update information to the public, fulfilling their mission as the nation's leading press agency.

Speaking at the press conference, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said that August 28 is the traditional day of the Information and Communications sector, and also the day when digital technology and media come together under one "house". After 16 years, this event also opens up a direction: all press agencies will become digital press agencies.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung stated: National Day September 2 is an occasion to fan the aspiration for Vietnam to "stand shoulder to shoulder with the world's great powers" as our ancestors wished. Today's generation must inherit the past and open up the future... Inheriting the past is inheriting the Dai Viet spirit, the will of independence and self-reliance, inheriting the aspiration to bring the country to stand shoulder to shoulder with the great powers, thereby writing the history of today's generation... so that Vietnam becomes a high-income country by 2045.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung added that artificial intelligence - AI has gone through the discovery and research phase and entered the application phase. AI needs to be popularized and penetrated into all fields, everywhere, every place, every activity of every individual, every organization, every business. The way to popularize is to turn AI technology into a cheap, universal service that everyone can use. The Ministry of Information and Communications is proposing that the Government issue a National Action Program on AI application in digital transformation, digital government, digital economy, and digital society. At the same time, the National Strategy on digital transformation of journalism has been developed and issued. In the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications will develop an AI platform to support press agencies.
Sharing about how to interact with society, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized the power of the phrase "I don't know". Minister Nguyen Manh Hung stated: If you say "I don't know", your brain will open, if you say "I know", your brain will close. Saying "I don't know" will help us share and access the key to knowledge. Therefore, instead of saying "I know", each person needs to realize the beauty and effectiveness of the phrase "I don't know". Journalism is inherently a profession of inquiry, inherently has the power of the phrase "I don't know", and is also a profession that often asks questions, so it also possesses the power of questions. Therefore, it is necessary to take advantage of these two strengths to develop.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung expressed his belief that the press will fan the aspiration for a strong and prosperous Vietnam, creating the spiritual strength to build a prosperous and happy country. Minister Nguyen Manh Hung wished the press agencies to always innovate, while maintaining core values, serving the country more; wishing each journalist to always maintain pride in the mission of journalism!

Thanking Minister Nguyen Manh Hung for his orientations to support the press in the future, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh said that the Vietnam Journalists Association is currently building a common login system for all press agencies. This is not a new thing but has been done by many countries in the world to "deal with" the "big guys" such as: Facebook, Twitter... Through this system, press agencies with long traditions, press agencies with developed technology, as well as small press agencies all have a huge readership, to share user data analysis. This process is being implemented by the Vietnam Journalists Association, initially facing many difficulties, so the support of press agencies is needed.
