Being in difficult circumstances, the family of Mrs. Le Thi Nau and Mr. Nguyen Van Teo (residing in Met Lung hamlet, Vinh Dieu commune) never thought of having a decent house to live in. Mr. Teo works for hire, Mrs. Nau has bone and joint disease, is unable to work, so poverty has surrounded the family for a long time. The family of 3 lives in a boat, very difficult.

Realizing the family's difficult circumstances, in 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Dieu commune and the commune's Red Cross charity group supported the family in building a sturdy house to settle down.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Dieu Commune, Nguyen Van Duc, said that with the motto "For the poor - No one is left behind", the Commune Fatherland Front has developed a plan and assigned members to be in charge of propaganda and mobilization to each agency, unit and locality.

With the synchronous and drastic participation of the entire political system, the joint contributions of sponsors and people, the locality has built 43 houses with a total value of 2.64 billion VND from the Program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses". In addition, the government and organizations also supported policy families to build 9 houses, worth 480 million VND; 12 houses for youth, veterans... worth 710 million VND.

“The program “Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses” has helped many poor, near-poor households, and policy families with especially difficult circumstances have a warm home, stabilize their lives, and arouse the spirit of solidarity, humanity, and community responsibility,” Mr. Nguyen Van Duc shared.

Social security care

Over the past 5 years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has coordinated with the People's Committee of the commune to mobilize and present over 12,300 gifts, worth more than 2.8 billion VND to poor, near-poor, disadvantaged households, policy families, and meritorious people; mobilized 750 million VND from the "For the Poor" Fund to implement many social security programs, promptly supporting poor and disadvantaged households...

With the attention, leadership and implementation of the local Party Committee and government, the active participation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations, the social security work of Vinh Dieu commune is always guaranteed. The lives of poor and near-poor households and beneficiaries of social policies and protection have gradually improved, and economic development has been promoted. Over the past 5 years, the poverty rate has decreased by an average of 1% - 2% per year, and near-poor households have decreased by 1% - 3%. Currently, the multidimensional poverty rate of Vinh Dieu commune has decreased to 1.6%.
