Recently, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division No. 210 (Chief Justice Park Ji-won) ruled in favor of some plaintiffs in the 100 million won (1.8 billion VND) damage lawsuit filed by star Wonyoung and Starship Entertainment against YouTuber Taldeok Camp Park (real name Kim Park).
The court ordered the YouTuber to pay 100 million won, with an annual interest rate of 12% until the date of full repayment. Mr. Park must not only pay the interest but also pay the court fees incurred during the lawsuit.

Wonyoung previously filed a lawsuit for damages in October 2023. Wonyoung's lawyer presented evidence that Park's YouTube videos were false, and alleged that all content posted on the channel was always made up of false information or insults to the point of personal insult. Her lawyer said: "This is clearly a civilly illegal act and it also constitutes criminal defamation and insult."
Taldeok Camp Park is a collection of videos related to female idol Wonyoung, usually spreading malicious rumors. These are false information that Wonyoung was sued for fighting with a member of a girl group or that she was in a relationship with a famous male artist. A video with slanderous content was even spread with a "huge" number of viewers, claiming that her personality is problematic.

Wonyoung and Starship Entertainment have sued the YouTuber for defamation and insult. They are also seeking damages. The case was investigated by the Gangnam Police Station and was recently forwarded to the prosecutor's office. A separate lawsuit is also being filed against Starship Entertainment for defamation and interference with its business, as the false information about Wonyoung has affected the company's revenue.
In this civil lawsuit and the criminal case in which he was charged, Kim Park asserted that he "did not know it was wrong" and "had the right to speak about celebrities." Wonyoung's lawyer said: "The artist and the management company feel angry, these videos are illegal because they were uploaded for personal purposes and affect the community."
Wonyoung asserted that not only she but also other celebrities who became victims suffered psychological trauma due to the rumored video. In addition, her entertainment activities were also hindered because of this false information. The lawyer emphasized: "Mr. Park sought to make a profit through the production and editing of the video, the level of violation of the law is very serious."

Starship Entertainment previously found out Kim Park’s identity from a US court last year and filed a complaint. Kim Park deleted his YouTube account and apologized, but Starship continued to pursue the case. With Wonyoung’s victory, YouTubers who use foreign websites as a shield to insult celebrities will no longer be able to escape the law as easily as before.
Wonyoung was born on August 31, 2004 in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. She is known as a Korean singer, songwriter, rapper and MC under Starship Entertainment. Currently, Wonyoung is a member of the girl group IVE and holds the position of Sub Vocalist.
Wonyoung officially debuted at the age of 14 when she was a middle school student and took on the position of Center of the group IZ*ONE. She has an outstanding height of about 1m73 and an attractive aura, so she always becomes the center of the media every time she appears. Up to now, Wonyoung has had many impressive achievements. In addition, she is currently the representative face of the fashion house MiuMiu and the "muse" of the brands Innisfree and Kirsh.
According to JTBC News , Wonyoung is the number one star that drama producers want to cast, even though she has no acting experience. The producers took the risk of casting to get the nod from the female idol.
Industry representatives say Wonyoung's star quality is a guarantee if she is cast. The film will not have to worry about creating discussion on social media if she is cast.
Quote from YTN Star when evaluating Wonyoung in 2022: "This is the era of Wonoung when people cannot help but mention her, no matter where they are."
Having the "golden goose" in hand, Starship Entertainment thoroughly "promoted" the 18-year-old female singer to stand out in any activity with the IVE group. This made many audiences uncomfortable, thinking that she was too favored, causing the other members to become overshadowed and sarcastically calling IVE the group "Wonyoung and friends".
