Female student in block A1 becomes valedictorian of block D01 nationwide

Pham Thi Van Anh, a student of class 12A1, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School (Hai Phong) is the valedictorian of block D01 nationwide.

‏Pham Thi Van Anh, a 12A1 student at Nguyen Binh Khiem High School (Hai Phong), is the valedictorian of the D01 block nationwide. Van Anh said she was very surprised to become the valedictorian of the D01 block. "My main block is A1 and the D01 block is for backup, so when I heard that I was the valedictorian of the D01 block, I was extremely surprised. I didn't dare think that I would become the valedictorian of the whole country, I just hoped to be in the top of the city," Van Anh shared.

However, she still could not hide her happiness because her efforts during 12 years of studying had yielded worthy results. "I feel a little regretful about physics because I invested and studied very carefully, my goal was to get a score of 10 in this subject but the result was only 9.5 points," Van Anh expressed.

Van Anh is considered to be good at all subjects.

With that score, many people think that Van Anh tried to achieve high results to apply for university. However, she had previously been admitted to Hanoi Foreign Trade University by using her high school transcript, so she only took the exam to graduate. "I knew that I had passed the university entrance exam before taking the high school graduation exam. However, I still did not neglect my studies and always tried my best to not waste my efforts over the past many years and to be worthy of the school I was about to attend," Van Anh shared.

According to Van Anh, she does not have any special study tips, but only works hard and tries her best. Van Anh said: "I am lucky to have teachers to guide me so I am not distracted by the large amount of knowledge. In addition to studying at school, I study more at home and learn from online courses to have more multidimensional thinking. In particular, I cannot stay up late to study, so I have maintained the habit of waking up early since grade 10. In the evening, I study from 7 pm to 11 pm, and the next morning I wake up at 4:30 am to study."

Although she is good at all subjects, the subject that Van Anh is best at and most passionate about is math. She said: "Since I was little, I have loved math and was lucky to have some achievements in this subject. I won first prize in the city-level math competition in English in grade 10 and first prize in the city-level math competition in grade 12."

Sharing about her upcoming plans, Van Anh said she will try to study well in a new environment and improve her English skills because she is not satisfied with her current IELTS 6.5 level.

Commenting on her student, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, homeroom teacher of class 12A1, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School, could not help but be proud, saying: "Van Anh is good at all subjects. For 3 consecutive years, her average academic score has been at the top of the school. Van Anh is also an exemplary class monitor with a sociable personality. The most admirable thing about her is her strong will to strive. Although she already knew she would pass the university entrance exam, Van Anh always tried her best to bring honor to the school."
