Tears - People's Heart

(LĐ online) - At 9:47 a.m. on September 2, 1969, the immense, benevolent and great heart of President Ho Chi Minh , “The man in search of the nation’s image”, the hero of national liberation, stopped beating. Time seemed to stop, millions of Vietnamese hearts were broken by his passing.

At 6:00 p.m. on October 4, 2013, General Vo Nguyen Giap, the greatest Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People's Army, the national hero with the Dien Bien Phu victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world", also passed away forever. Many tears were shed by the Vietnamese people during the last days of autumn that year.

And at 1:38 p.m. on July 19, 2024, the whole country was once again immersed in grief, with tears streaming down as we had to say goodbye to comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, an outstanding son of the nation, a true communist, one of the outstanding leaders of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

One thing in common between President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is their great revolutionary career, shining examples of noble moral qualities, and lifelong sacrifices for the country and the people's happiness.

On the day of the passing of three great and outstanding people of the Vietnamese nation, many people shed tears. It is not surprising, when Uncle Ho, General Vo Nguyen Giap and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong devoted their entire lives to the survival, prosperity and high position of the country and the Vietnamese people in each historical period. Those were tears of trust, of respect, and the sincere and natural feelings of the true Vietnamese people for the leaders who knew how to let go of ordinary material desires and temptations to care for the people and the country.

The revolutionary life of President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap has been a part of history. The cause of national liberation and unification of Uncle Ho and the Commander-in-Chief has become a brilliant mark in the golden history of the Vietnamese people. With General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, as a 25-year-old young man who, along with millions of Vietnamese people, shed tears in the autumn days of September 1969; or as the head of the Party and State, as the Head of the Funeral Committee to send off the talented general of the Vietnamese people to his final resting place 13 years ago, he has proven himself to be an excellent successor of his predecessors and predecessors to fulfill the great mission entrusted by the country and the people. He is completely worthy of a solid and deep position in the hearts of the people.

As a leader who always attaches importance to the position of the nation, is steadfast in the path to socialism, governs the country with strictness, respects the law, and considers the interests of the people as a prerequisite in all policies and guidelines; he focuses on Party building, considering that the construction and breakthrough for the prosperity of the country must begin with the purity and strength of the team of cadres, leaders and party members. Whether in the position of General Secretary, the highest leader of the Party and State, or the most important positions of the country that he held before, building a clean and honest Party is always the guiding principle for all actions. For him, that is always the key to restoring the people's trust in the Party and the State.

Dedicated to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, the General Secretary always had the following thoughts in mind: “We are descendants of Uncle Ho, the Party is the Communist Party of Vietnam, the nation is the Vietnamese nation, this country must definitely develop and move forward, must not fall behind other countries, and must not accept being inferior to others.”

His concerns and worries, together with the efforts of the entire Party and people, have helped our country increasingly affirm its firm position in the international arena and the people's trust in the Party's leadership of the country.

It is impossible to list all the great achievements of historical significance that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, together with the Party Central Committee, the entire army and the entire people, have built in the recent period. But to put it briefly, comprehensively and with all humility as General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said, it is: "Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today. There are many more favorable conditions to firmly follow the path that our Party, our people and beloved Uncle Ho have chosen."

Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger - considered the most outstanding diplomat of all time in the United States, a person that no president would miss the opportunity to consult him on diplomatic strategy upon taking office, once commented on the Vietnamese people: "For Americans in particular and the world in general, the Vietnamese people are a special people. They (Vietnam) are a small, poor people but have a history of fighting against foreign invaders that no other people in the world has ever had to experience, resilient - indomitable, intelligent, enduring, diligent, brave, heroic, humane and friendly are all things that this people have...

With this nation (Vietnam), we should respect their right to self-determination - create trust and respect for them - because they are a very formidable force in Southeast Asian and Asian countries in the very near future.

Therefore, with Vietnam, we should have a special relationship with them - not close to attract, not pressure, isolate, or dislike them - have an equal, objective relationship with them and respect them - certainly America will have many advantages in the Asian region in particular and the world in general - because this is a special country - a special people - so America should also have a special relationship with them".

Citing the famous US Secretary of State’s statement, we can see that the Vietnamese people and country have never resigned themselves to difficulties, hardships and challenges. This nation has traditions, history, culture and good human values, and will certainly have a sustainable and prosperous future.

And that nation, no matter how difficult the circumstances, always produces outstanding and outstanding children to shoulder and undertake the destiny of the country. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is the clearest proof of that truth.

With a “bamboo” diplomatic policy, firm and flexible in every situation, he and the Party and State have brought Vietnam out of its “underdog” position, becoming a reliable, safe and attractive destination for many world powers, through the signing of Comprehensive Strategic Partnerships for peace, cooperation and development.

Domestically, maintaining and promoting solidarity; resolutely fighting against corruption and negativity; building an increasingly clean and strong Party based on theoretical and practical foundations that have been painstakingly built through stages, suitable for each period, has helped General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Party Central Committee have a consistent general orientation, with policies and leadership lines that are suitable for the development trend of the times, while creating firm trust in the hearts of the people.

Farewell to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a true communist, a talented leader, who is always consistent between words and actions, taking the people as the measure, taking the people as the standard, taking the interests of the people as the goal to strive for.

Hopefully, the people's tears during the days of sending off General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to his eternal rest will also be the motivation for the entire Party, the entire people, and the next generations of leaders of the country to "turn sorrow into action" to continue to build and cultivate the legacy values ​​that the General Secretary left behind; continue to lead the country into a new stage of development with the most steadfast internal strength and mindset.
