Dinh River water level rises, Phuoc Hau commune evacuates 112 households to safety

On the afternoon of November 19, Mr. Dang Nang Tom - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuoc Hau commune said that by 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, the locality had evacuated 112 households/392 people in vulnerable and partially flooded areas of Ninh Quy 2, Ninh Quy 3 and Bao Vinh villages to safety.

Phuoc Hau commune mobilized forces and vehicles to evacuate people in vulnerable and locally flooded areas.

Through inspection, the embankment of Dinh River (the side adjacent to the people's land) was eroded and damaged for about 50m, in Ninh Quy 3 village; Provincial Road 708 section through Ninh Quy 1 village was eroded at the foot of the road about 5m. To ensure safety, the Commune People's Committee has immediately covered and warned people and vehicles passing by at the two erosion and damage points mentioned above. Due to heavy rain and floodwaters, in the commune, nearly 200ha of rice, 50ha of crops, 20ha of apples and 3ha of grapes were flooded and about 2,800 broiler chickens were swept away.

Currently, in the commune, there is heavy rain combined with the reservoirs regulating water, the water level of Dinh River has risen, about to overflow the dike into the residential areas of the villages: Ninh Quy 1, Ninh Quy 2, Ninh Quy 3; in the area of ​​​​Suoi Me village, Bao Vinh village, the river water overflowed the road. The Commune Civil Defense Command has mobilized forces to vulnerable areas to evacuate people and move assets to safe places; at the same time, on duty 24/24 hours to respond to emergency situations.

Provincial Road 708 through Ninh Quy 1 village was eroded.

The embankment of Dinh River was eroded and damaged for a length of about 50m.

Phuoc Hau Commune People's Committee proposed that the province pay attention to surveying and having a plan to repair the eroded and damaged embankment of Dinh River and the above-mentioned Provincial Road 708 to ensure the safety of works, people and property in the area.
