First of all, to be compensated in case of car damage due to storm, the car needs to be purchased with voluntary physical insurance, also known as hull insurance.
According to experts, car damage caused by storms and floods is the result of natural factors, not human error, so compensation cannot be assigned to any specific individual in this case.
Compensation for damages and compensation value for vehicle owners will be determined based on the terms of the insurance contract signed between the vehicle owner and the insurance company.
If the insurance contract signed between the two parties has an agreement that vehicle damage due to natural disasters is the basis for compensation and is not subject to any exclusions, the customer has the right to request the insurance company to be responsible for compensation when that event occurs.

To enjoy full insurance benefits, car owners must comply with certain regulations and procedures. When a car is damaged due to natural disasters, storms, floods... the first thing to do is to notify the insurance company so that a specialist can assess the scene.
This helps to accurately verify the cause and extent of damage caused by natural disasters, thereby providing the insurance with a basis to fully cover 100% of repair costs.
In addition, when an insurance event occurs, the insurance company is also responsible for coordinating with the customer and related parties to collect a set of insurance claim documents and is legally responsible for the accuracy, completeness and validity of those documents.
The amount of compensation for each incident is also different. For cars that are damaged by electric poles, trees, billboards, or flooded due to natural disasters, if the car has purchased voluntary insurance, the customer will be compensated 100% of the damage value if the insurance company is immediately notified to assess the scene when the accident occurs.
However, if the customer does not comply with this procedure and arbitrarily takes the vehicle to the garage or service workshop without notifying the insurance company, the compensation level may be reduced to only about 70-80%. This is to limit the risk of the insurance company when it cannot accurately verify the cause and extent of the initial damage.
For water-hammered vehicles, owners will be compensated 70-80% of repair costs.
For electric vehicles, battery damage insurance will be applied similarly to flood insurance for vehicles using internal combustion engines.
This means that if the battery or other important parts of an electric vehicle are damaged by flooding or storm damage, the owner can still claim insurance compensation at a rate of 70-80%, depending on the specific terms of the insurance contract.
