The new Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, Cao Van Chong (formerly Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province) gave a speech to help the city's football develop sustainably.

Mr. Cao Van Chong said that after the merger, Ho Chi Minh City's sports in general and football in particular are expected to have a strong and comprehensive transformation from grassroots to professional.

At the professional level, restructuring football teams opens up a healthy competitive environment, contributing to improving competition efficiency, increasing investment resources and professional quality, attracting the attention of a large number of fans.

In order for the city's football activities to develop sustainably, worthy of a modern megacity after the merger, Mr. Cao Van Chong said that it is necessary to pay attention to implementing well the task groups.

In particular, it is necessary to improve the quality of activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF), focus on training, develop football academies and training centers, and increase the application of science and technology in selection, training, management and competition organization.

Promote international cooperation

Ho Chi Minh City needs to promote international cooperation. Currently, after the merger, Ho Chi Minh City football has 6 professional clubs - the most in the country. They are Ho Chi Minh City Police, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City (playing in V-League), Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City Youth, Gia Dinh, Van Hien University (playing in the first division).

Among them, the return of the once famous name Ho Chi Minh City Police is expected to bring the city's football back to its golden age.
