According to information from the website of NextTech Group Corporation, Mr. Dao Minh Phu is introduced as a senior advisor.

However, in reality, Mr. Phu has had a relatively long journey with the technology corporation founded by Shark Binh (Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh ), with many larger roles.

Data from the business registration system shows that Mr. Dao Minh Phu appeared on the list of founding shareholders of NextTech near the end of 2020 - shortly after Ms. Dao Lan Huong (Shark Binh's ex-wife) withdrew capital from this group.

Accordingly, Mr. Phu contributed 100 billion VND, equivalent to 20% of NextTech's shares. Shark Binh at that time held 70% of the capital, equivalent to 350 billion VND.

By the end of 2022, Mr. Phu appeared in the announcement of changes to business registration contents as Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director and legal representative on behalf of Shark Binh.

A year later, in November 2023, he was only the General Director and legal representative. Also in 2023, many other changes were recorded at NextTech.

Accordingly, in October 2023, Mr. Phu withdrew from the list of shareholders. "Replacing" Mr. Phu is Phuc An Hai Investment Company Limited, holding 0.5% of charter capital. At the same time, NextTech's charter capital has decreased sharply, from 500 billion VND to more than 4.2 billion VND at this time.

In April 2024, the position of General Director and legal representative of NextTech was transferred from Mr. Phu to Mr. Dao Manh Dung - who is also the Director and legal representative of Phuc An Hai Investment Company Limited.

NextTech's board of directors has been prosecuted.

Not only famous in the business world, Mr. Dao Minh Phu is also known as a professional poker player, having participated in many major tournaments at home and abroad.

One of Mr. Dao Minh Phu's most outstanding achievements is winning the Triton Super High Roller Series - $50,000 NLH 8-Handed tournament, taking place in 2023 in Quang Nam .

This is an international poker tournament, gathering many of the world's top players. In the final match, Mr. Phu overcame a series of strong opponents to be crowned champion, receiving a prize worth 1.67 million USD, equivalent to nearly 40 billion VND.

Who was arrested with Shark Binh?

Previously, Hanoi Police said they had decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh (Shark Binh) and 9 others for fraud and property appropriation and violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences.

The identities of the remaining defendants include: Dao Minh Phu, Nguyen Huu Tuat, Mai Thanh Ha, Tran Trung Hieu, Le Van Luong, Doan Van Tuan, Tran Thi Nhu Van, Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong and Nguyen Hoang Thin.

According to the investigation, around May 2021, Nguyen Hoa Binh, along with a number of other people with expertise and knowledge of digital currencies (a type of secure data chain built on the blockchain platform), agreed to contribute money to build and develop the "Antex digital currency" project (stored on the Binance e-wallet).

The purpose of this group is to sell Antex digital currency and call for investors to raise capital to build the "VNDT digital currency" project and the "VNDT e-wallet" software (used to store VNDT) in the future. In fact, this group has not yet completed the construction of the VNDT digital currency project. The subjects agreed to contribute capital to invest in the Antex project with a total amount of 5 billion VND, of which Binh contributed 2 billion VND.

So far, the investigation agency has determined that Nguyen Hoa Binh and the founding shareholders withdrew money from 30,000 investor wallets, appropriating an exceptionally large amount of money.

The police investigation agency has temporarily detained and frozen the money, accounts, securities, and assets of the subjects with a total value of about 900 billion VND, including: 597 gold bars, US dollars, 18 red books, 2 cars, and many related documents, certificates, books, and electronic devices.
