(GLO)- Phu Thien District Labor Federation ( Gia Lai province) has just held the 4th Trade Union Congress, term 2023-2028.
Attending the Congress were comrades Tran Le Nhung - Provincial Party Committee member, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), President of the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor; Ro Lan Nga - Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor; Nguyen Hoang Phong - Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Phu Thien District Party Committee; Vu Hong Duy - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee; leaders of departments, branches, associations, and mass organizations of the district and 110 outstanding delegates representing 1,748 union members of 71 grassroots trade union organizations (CĐCS).

The report at the congress stated: In the 2018-2023 term, with the attention of Party committees at all levels, the Provincial Federation of Labor, the close and harmonious coordination of the government, heads of agencies and units, and the efforts of union members and workers; the district union activities achieved important results. Specifically, 100% of the targets set by the Resolution of the Trade Union Congress at all levels were achieved and exceeded. The work of supervising and implementing policies for union members and workers was given attention, the quality and effectiveness of the Union activities were improved.
During the past term, Phu Thien District Labor Union has taken good care of the interests of union members and workers; signed a credit guarantee for 1,144 union members and workers to borrow capital from the bank's monthly salary-based consumption fund to repair houses and do side business ; supported the repair and construction of 11 "Union Shelters" with a total amount of 245 million VND. Implementing well the "Welfare Program for union members and workers", the District Labor Union implemented 2 cooperation agreements with Chu A Thai Cooperative with preferential rice purchasing sources for union members. Over the past 5 years, the District Labor Union has coordinated with the district's departments and branches to summarize and propose timely rewards to all levels for 359 collectives and 1,359 individuals with outstanding achievements in emulation movements. The District Labor Union has rewarded 28 collectives and 156 individuals; The Provincial Federation of Labor awarded certificates of merit to 18 collectives and 45 individuals, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded certificates of merit to 3 collectives and 6 outstanding individuals.

With the motto "Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development", the 4th Congress of Phu Thien District Trade Union focused on analyzing some shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome in the coming time; at the same time, discussed the targets and tasks for the 2023-2028 term. Accordingly, the Congress resolved to approve the targets for the coming term with the general goal of striving to sign 2 collective labor agreements at enterprises in accordance with the provisions of law by the end of the term; 99% of cadres, civil servants and public employees are admitted to the Trade Union; 100% of agencies, units and enterprises participate with employers in promulgating and implementing the grassroots democracy regulations; strive for 90% of union members' cases to have the Trade Union represent and protect their legitimate and legal rights and interests; strive for 100% of enterprise-based Trade Unions to establish Women's Unions when qualified (if any); Every year, Phu Thien District Trade Union achieves good performance or better; 95% of Trade Union branches complete their tasks well; every year, at least 60 outstanding union members and workers are introduced to the Party for training, consideration, and admission; 100% of District Trade Unions organize financial inspections at the same level on schedule; strive for 100% of enterprise Trade Union branches to have their finances inspected...
The Congress elected 11 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Phu Thien District Labor Union for the 2023-2028 term, and comrade Nguyen Ngoc Chat was re-elected as Chairman of the District Labor Federation for the 4th term. The Congress elected a delegation of 8 people (7 official delegates, 1 alternate delegate) to attend the upcoming Provincial Labor Federation Congress.
