The image of Mr. Zou Heping (70 years old, living in Chongqing city, China) surprised everyone with his 6-pack abs and physical strength not inferior to young men in their twenties.
“My life is about running and the most important thing is to exercise, keep fit, develop a healthy lifestyle,” Heping told the South China Morning Post last week.
Mr. Heping's love of fitness began in 1979, when he read about the benefits of exercise in a magazine. Since then, Heping has been exercising every day at 5:30 a.m. before going to work at 8 a.m. He has maintained a regular exercise routine for 45 years.
Living near Mount Gele, he considers it his outdoor gym. Every day, he starts his workout by climbing the more than 2,500 steps from the foot of the mountain to the top. He spends an hour going up and 50 minutes going down.
He also came up with unique climbing techniques such as leapfrogging up and crawling crocodile-like down. “ Crawling doesn’t hurt your knees, it trains your limb coordination ,” he explained.

Zou always carries a 20-liter water bottle with him when he runs. He also practices weightlifting, rope or pole climbing, and handstands. The 70-year-old grandfather also revealed another secret to his youthful appearance and toned physique: going to bed early and avoiding alcohol and cigarettes for the past four decades.
Thanks to his youthful body, Zou has many fans on social networks. Netizens commented: "At that age, he still moves and exercises so quickly, it's so admirable. These positive things need to be spread more so that everyone knows the key to keeping the body young"; "He looks like a spider, very flexible and toned"; "Young people in their twenties are physically weaker than him, so admirable"...

According to researchers at the University of Kentucky (USA), a person can burn 563 calories per hour by climbing. A 70kg person can burn 633 calories per hour by climbing while carrying 20kg.
If rock climbing isn’t your thing, there are other unconventional ways to stay in shape. A 30-year-old California mother says she’s taken control of her life by practicing taekwondo twice a week, while a 32-year-old New York dad says he lost 80 pounds by jumping rope.
