Both US presidential candidates, Mr. Trump and Ms. Harris, have expressed confidence in their ability to become the next occupant of the White House.
The Hill newspaper reported on November 4 that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump recently expressed high confidence at a campaign event in North Carolina, with only one day left until the official election day. "People have an expression that I don't like very much. We're going to 'lose'. If everyone goes out and votes, they can't do anything," Trump said. The phrase Trump used was "it's ours to lose," implying that victory or defeat depends entirely on the actions of voters, not on external factors. Trump's campaign team is confident that American voters will realize that the current administration is causing the economy to collapse, while failing to control border security. Although the Republican candidate has had some difficult times, Trump's campaign asserts that he is doing better in the polls at the same time than in 2016 and 2020.

On the other hand, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris' team believes she has regained her advantage just before Election Day. The Vice President's side revealed that many undecided voters switched to supporting the Democratic Party at the last minute, citing the unexpected poll results in Iowa. "Ms. Harris is in a strong position before entering Election Day. The data is leaning towards her, people are ready to leave the Trump era behind," said Jamal Simmons, Ms. Harris' former communications director. "Even if she doesn't win Iowa, we still have confidence in battleground states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Women and older voters are trying to help Ms. Harris, which shows we are on the right track," said a Democratic strategist. US media reported that the latest poll results showed that the support rate between Mr. Trump and Ms. Harris in the battleground states is very close, which could lead to the possibility of recounts in some localities. The US presidential election will begin at midnight local time on November 5 (12:00 Vietnam time), with three towns in New Hampshire, Dixville Notch, Hart's Location and Millsfield, being the first to vote. The remaining states will open their polling stations at 6:00 a.m.Vietnamnet.vn
