Mr. Truong Gia Binh: FPT does not limit 2 AI factories, many world corporations have proposed to work together

FPT Corporation held its 2025 annual general meeting of shareholders this afternoon, April 15. The number of shareholders attending this year's FPT general meeting increased dramatically with more than 2,000 people, representing nearly 67% of the company's shares.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh: The difficulties are overwhelming but the opportunities are unimaginable.

At the conference, Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of FPT - shared about the prospects of the AI sector when DeepSeek - a low-cost AI model that created an earthquake on a global scale - appeared.

“People are worried that DeepSeek will threaten FPT's AI factory, but I think that when AI becomes popular and common, demand will only increase, not decrease,” said Mr. Binh.

Mr. Binh also said that in the near future, it will not be limited to 2 AI factories, because many corporations around the world have proposed to work with FPT.

Speaking to shareholders as an inspirational speaker, FPT's chairman also mentioned many things about this year's prospects in the face of international fluctuations.

“What kind of year will 2025 be? I can say it will be extremely difficult and full of unimaginable opportunities. It must be said that we are entering a period where no one can say anything about the future,” Mr. Binh shared.

"In the past, we faced unimaginably strong forces but did not falter to achieve victory. This time, I also feel the same determination. Vietnam can rise to the ranks of the most advanced nations in the world, and everyone can have a prosperous and happy life," said Mr. Binh.

Next in the discussion, a shareholder mentioned potential international risks that could affect FPT's growth plan of around 20%.

In response, Mr. Binh said: "Why do we still set a 20% growth target despite such immense difficulties? Because that is FPT's discipline, we must do it at all costs."

"FPT constantly thinks about risks and opportunities. What makes us different is the sentiment. Once Vietnamese people get involved, they can't get out. It's close and loving. With AI Factory, the more popular and common it is, the greater the demand. There will be orders in the second quarter," Mr. Binh continued.

Referring to the 2025 plan, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, FPT General Director, said that setting a target of 25% revenue growth and 21% profit growth is very challenging in the current context.

"We are very brave to set this number, but we are not subjective. We will closely follow reality to come up with scenarios to achieve the set goal," Mr. Khoa shared.

According to FPT leaders, Vietnam's economy is highly open and depends heavily on export activities, so it will be greatly affected by the global macroeconomic situation.

Therefore, businesses will have to closely monitor practical developments and the world macroeconomic situation, to make timely adjustments to business plans when necessary.
