PV GAS (a member of Petrovietnam ) is promoting research into the production of green hydrogen and green ammonia products - energy sources that can replace fossil fuels in the future.
At the event "Techconnect & Innovation Vietnam 2023" recently held in Quang Ninh , Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) had many activities aimed at introducing energy development trends as well as sharing about green energy development orientation.
According to Mr. Le Ngoc Son, Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam, the unit is building a comprehensive strategy for sustainable development until 2045, focusing on technological innovation and shifting to clean energy such as offshore wind power, clean fuels such as hydrogen, ammonia; developing technology to capture, transport, store and use carbon.

In recent times, Petrovietnam and PV GAS have been researching to gradually shift energy and expand the value chain of oil and gas products. Taking advantage of the strengths of existing infrastructure and raw materials, Petrovietnam has planned to develop renewable energy to diversify raw materials and fuel sources and integrate them into production and business activities at the right time, aiming to gradually reduce emissions to zero.
The Group and its member units invest heavily in research in the fields of technology, equipment, and production lines to improve processes; strive to create sustainable energy solutions, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions for its factories, energy consuming facilities, and customers.
In line with the Government 's international commitment to the goal of reducing emissions and developing green energy sources, PV GAS is promoting research on green hydrogen and green ammonia products, which are currently considered clean energy sources and can replace fossil fuels in the future.

"With advantages in gas transportation, processing and storage infrastructure, financial capacity and experience, science and technology, and high-quality human resources, PV GAS is fully capable of implementing its development strategy in the next phase, pilot projects on green hydrogen and green ammonia around 2030," Mr. Le Ngoc Son emphasized.
At the event, the area introducing the technology solutions of the group and PV GAS attracted a large number of people and visitors to visit and learn. Here, through the modern interactive digital information display method, visitors were provided with full information about the formation and development of the enterprise and the orientation of green gas products and services in the future.

Visitors not only grasp information about the types of petroleum products as well as the diverse existing specialized services of Petrovietnam from upstream to downstream, but also learn more about potential products for petrochemical processing from gas such as methane, ethane, propane, butane.... In particular, PV GAS has introduced a comprehensive model for developing green gas products with zero CO2 emissions (green hydrogen, green ammonia...) from the source to the distribution to consumers.
According to the group's leaders, this is the main development trend of the world's energy industry in the future and is also the field that Petrovietnam and PV GAS are focusing on researching and implementing in practice, aiming to achieve sustainable development goals through technological innovation and energy transition.

The event Techconnect & Innovation Vietnam 2023 is directed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Quang Ninh People's Committee, and organized by the Department of Technology Application and Development, Department of Science and Technology of Quang Ninh province.
With the theme "Innovation - Sustainable Development", the event has main activities including: forums, conferences to exchange information on the topic of connecting technology and innovation, product demonstrations and technology highlights, connections to promote investment and research cooperation.
