The final round of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 took place on the evening of September 29, with the highest position belonging to beauty Bui Quynh Hoa. The titles of 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 were awarded to beauties Nguyen Thi Huong Ly and Trinh Thi Hong Dang, respectively. After this important competition night, information related to the Top 3 Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 received much attention from the beauty-loving community. Before joining the "race" of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023, Huong Ly had registered 3 times in the Miss Universe Vietnam contest. Despite possessing a height of 1.76m and a hot appearance, the beauty from Gia Lai has not been able to touch the prestigious crown. At the Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 and 2022 contests, Huong Ly both stopped in the Top 5 finalists. But this result did not discourage the beauty born in 1995, but determined to conquer the "Universe dream".

Referring to the reason for participating in the Miss Universe contest many times instead of registering for other beauty contests, Huong Ly affirmed to PV Dan Viet: "I am someone who really loves the spirit of the Miss Universe contest, which aims at the image of women with their own stories, success, modernity and civilization. That is the reason I have competed in this contest many times. Because of my love for the contest and I want to represent a generation of Vietnamese women in the most fierce beauty arena on the planet."

Huong Ly: The journey of a cowherd girl to 1st runner-up Miss Universe Vietnam 2023

After the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 final, Huong Ly called her journey after 4 times conquering the "Universal dream" "Journey of the cowherd girl".

"The whole journey has given me a beautiful dream of youth, of the passion that I am living true to my work. It is the support and love of everyone throughout my career. It is also the suggestions, encouragement, challenges and even my own shortcomings to perfect myself...", Huong Ly expressed.

Previously, in episode 1 of the reality show "I am the Universe Vietnam" within the framework of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 contest, Huong Ly attracted the attention of the members of the jury when she revealed her "more than 10 years of experience herding buffaloes". "I started herding buffaloes since primary school to help my parents and I love that job," said the beauty from Gia Lai.

When returning to participate in the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 contest, Huong Ly revealed that she had hidden it from her mother to participate in beauty pageants and supermodel contests: "My mother is just an ordinary woman like many other mothers in this S-shaped strip of land. My mother doesn't care about the glory of the art stage, because she doesn't understand. She doesn't need me to be famous, because if I'm famous, she's also afraid that I'll be far away from my family. She just wants me to live happily and peacefully, working hard to get by. Then later on, I will have a stable family, that's my mother's dream.

But perhaps I was a bad child, because I always disobeyed my mother. In the past, I hid from my mother to compete in Vietnam's Next Top Model twice, but only dared to tell her when we were in the house. I competed in Miss Universe 3 times, but every time I made my mother cry because she was afraid that her daughter would not get what she wanted and would be sad, afraid that public pressure would be put on her, so she had to say: "If it's too hard, come back to me to take care of you. Whatever our family has, come back and eat."

In a conversation with PV Dan Viet, Huong Ly openly talked about her life in her hometown Gia Lai: "I was born into a normal farming family, so the common mentality of parents like my parents is to want a stable life, which is understandable. But with perseverance and effort over many years, independence in daily life is the biggest proof for my mother to have more confidence in every decision of her daughter."

Regarding the question of whether the fourth time she participated in the Miss pageant was because the "cowherd girl" wanted to "change her life" so that her parents could have a better life, Huong Ly affirmed to Dan Viet: "I have had so many opportunities to "change my life" with many different Miss pageants. But why did I only choose Miss Universe? The answer can only be because of my dream and passion."

Although she could not become the owner of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 crown and missed the ticket to participate in Miss Universe 2023 (Miss Universe) taking place in El Salvador this coming November, the beauty-loving community still hopes that Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 1st Runner-up Huong Ly will have another opportunity to participate in the international beauty contest in the near future.
