Strive to complete the general urban planning project of Long Thanh Airport for approval in the third quarter of 2025

According to the Department of Construction, the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has determined that by 2030, the province will have 19 urban areas. Recently, the Department of Construction has coordinated with localities to prepare documents to adjust the general planning of urban areas, zoning plans, and urban development programs in the province.

Currently, for urban areas under the approval authority of the Prime Minister, namely Bien Hoa, Nhon Trach, Trang Bom cities, the general urban planning projects and adjustments to the general urban planning have been submitted to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal. Currently, localities are finalizing the opinions of the Ministry of Construction and ministries and branches.

Long Thanh urban area alone has been approved for planning tasks. At the same time, localities also organize the establishment of zoning plans for urban areas that must carry out zoning plans.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc assessed that, compared to the requirements of the Provincial People's Committee, the progress of making general planning and zoning plans for urban areas in the province is about 3 months behind the set target. One of the reasons affecting the progress of planning work is that the Ministry of Construction is currently researching and drafting amendments to the Construction Law and the decree in the direction of planning according to the new commune after the merger. Therefore, zoning planning projects need to be reviewed and re-evaluated.

To ensure the progress of planning work, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc requested relevant agencies to focus all resources and complete the approval of urban and rural planning in the province before December 2025.

Regarding the general planning of Trang Bom and Nhon Trach urban areas and the adjustment of the general planning of Bien Hoa city, the Department of Construction is assigned to guide localities to review and continue to complete the dossier to ensure compliance with the removal of administrative boundaries of districts and cities, and submit for approval in the third quarter of 2025.

For the general urban planning of Long Thanh Airport, the Department of Construction urgently coordinates with the winning consulting unit to select the bidding plan, review and compare the planning tasks approved by the Prime Minister , advise the Provincial People's Committee to ask for the Prime Minister's opinion and the Ministry of Construction to adjust some contents. Strive to complete the project for approval in the third quarter of 2025.

For zoning planning, the Department of Construction shall coordinate with the People's Committees of districts and cities based on the provincial planning and the plan to arrange the organization of administrative units, organize a review and prepare to organize the establishment of zoning planning immediately after merging commune-level administrative units.
