Meritorious Doctor Nguyen Hong Quang: A dedicated and enthusiastic "Captain"

Not only working at domestic medical facilities, many students of the school are also qualified to work in developed countries such as Germany, Japan, etc. Achieving such results is greatly contributed by Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang, Principal of the school.

Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang started his career at the Department of Physical Therapy - Rehabilitation, Dong Nai Children's Hospital in 1995. Not only dedicated to treating children, he also participated in building and implementing the Community Rehabilitation Program for children with motor disabilities in the province. This is a humane, sustainable program that has been maintained since 1996, helping disabled children in Dong Nai province have the opportunity to be rehabilitated, changing the attitude of families towards disabled children, especially in remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas.

In 2006, after being assigned to Dong Nai Medical College, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang and the School Council developed a project to upgrade the school. A year later, the Ministry of Education and Training decided to upgrade Dong Nai Medical College to Dong Nai Medical College. From a young lecturer, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang gradually matured, took on many different roles and was appointed as the school's Principal from 2018 to present.

As head, Quang contributed to modernizing the school's facilities, improving the quality of the staff, and increasing the proportion of lecturers with postgraduate degrees to over 70%. He initiated the establishment of the school's General Clinic, which not only serves the local people but also serves as a practice place for students.

In parallel with his management work, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang still directly teaches, researches and is the head of many valuable scientific topics. Notably, during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, Mr. Quang and more than 1,500 lecturers and students of the school volunteered to join the front line against the epidemic, from collecting samples, injecting Covid-19 vaccines to taking care of F0; at the same time, quickly converting the school's dormitory into a quarantine area and establishing a collective kitchen to serve the volunteer force.

Not only is he a decisive, dedicated, and enthusiastic “captain”, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang also actively participates in social activities. He is one of the typical examples of voluntary blood donation, actively participating in free medical examination and treatment activities for families with meritorious services to the revolution, and people in difficult circumstances in remote areas…

With his outstanding contributions in 30 years of work, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal, a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister, many certificates of merit from the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, the title of Provincial Emulation Fighter and many other noble awards. Recently, he was honored to be awarded the noble title of Meritorious Physician by the President.
