The third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia ended on the evening of June 10. The six teams that won tickets to the 2026 World Cup are Iran, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Jordan, Japan, and Australia.
The 6 teams that qualified for the 4th qualifying round were UAE, Qatar, Iraq, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, while the 6 teams that were eliminated were Kyrgyzstan, North Korea, Palestine, Kuwait, China, and Bahrain.
"Japan is too strong even though they only use the B team at this level. They are on a different level even though the Indonesian team has many naturalized players from Europe.
Anyway, congratulations to Indonesia for making it to the fourth qualifying round," Macky Chan from the Philippines expressed on the Asean Football page after witnessing Japan's big win over Indonesia with a score of 6-0 in the final match of the third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup on the evening of June 10.

Just like the match against Australia in the previous round, the Japanese team continued to not use their strongest lineup when welcoming Indonesia at home in Suita Stadium because they had already secured a place in the final round as the group leader.
However, that did not stop the Japanese team from creating a rain of goals against Indonesia, when they quickly took a 3-0 lead in the first half with a double from Kamada Daichi (minutes 15 and 45+6) and a goal from Kubo (minute 19).
The match did not change in the second half when the "Samurai Blue" continued to score 3 more goals to secure the final victory with a tennis score of 6-0. The goals belonged to Ryoya Morishita (minute 50), Machino Shuto (minute 58) and Hosoya Mao (minute 80).
After 10 matches, the Japanese team finished at the top of the table with 23 points, while Indonesia, despite losing the match, achieved its goal of qualifying for the 4th round of the 2026 World Cup by finishing in 4th place with 12 points.
"Japan has proven its class by regularly participating in the World Cup finals. Not only Indonesia, but even the Vietnamese and Thai teams have experienced this when facing Japan. Indonesia should prepare well for the 4th qualifying round right now," commented Aarai from Malaysia after the loss of the archipelago team.
"Japan are on another level and they are too strong. This is a valuable lesson for Indonesia to play better in the fourth qualifying round," Hendra Bangsawan from Singapore sent words of encouragement to the only representative of Southeast Asia present in the fourth qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
"When facing Japan, Indonesia must play at a fast pace, with close distances between players in the squad and dare to advance. For example, the Vietnamese team under coach Park Hang Seo only lost lightly to Japan. Even striker Kubo praised the Vietnamese team as the only Southeast Asian team that can cause trouble," commented Indonesian account Bang Jr. about the team's playing style.
"Indonesia cannot create a surprise against the team ranked 17th in the world , 100 places above them on the FIFA rankings. Losing to the number one team in Asia is nothing to be disappointed about, instead, try harder for the next qualifying round," concluded Thai account Saksan Buaphuan.
