On July 29, Son La province launched a fundraising campaign to support disaster relief.

Attending the launching ceremony were comrades: Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the province.

From July 19 to 27, heavy rain and thunderstorms occurred in the province, causing serious damage to people and property. There were 5 deaths and 1 missing person; 324 houses damaged; more than 112 hectares of rice, 18 hectares of fruit trees, annual crops, flowers; 90 livestock, 2,560 poultry were swept away; many traffic routes, irrigation works, schools, electricity and water systems, communications, etc. were severely damaged; estimated damage was over 104.6 billion VND.

In order to support the people in a timely manner, Son La province has launched a campaign to support the recovery of damage caused by natural disasters in the province. The campaign and donations will last for 90 days, starting from the date of the campaign.
