Urgently fix the problem on Thai Binh bridge caused by storms

At about 10:30 p.m. on July 30, due to the impact of a strong storm, the lighting system, decorative lights, electric poles, and a railing section about 40 meters long on the right side of Thai Binh Bridge (from Tran Thai Tong Street to Long Hung Street), in Thai Binh Ward, were blown down by the wind and thrown into the river. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any human casualties.

Immediately after the incident occurred, forces were present at the scene to deploy initial remedial measures.

Immediately after the incident, functional forces including the Department of Construction, Provincial Police (Traffic Police Department), leaders of Thai Binh ward, Thai Binh Road Management Company and related units were present at the scene to promptly deploy initial remedial measures to ensure traffic safety.

The road management unit organized barricades, blocking two entrances to the non-motorized lane on the bridge.

In the immediate future, the unit directly managing Thai Binh Bridge, the Project Management Board of the old Thai Binh City area (now part of Thai Binh Ward), will coordinate with the authorities to temporarily reinforce the collapsed railing section, develop a traffic diversion plan, and block the two entrances to the non-motorized lane. At the same time, ropes will be stretched, warning signs will be placed, and personnel will be assigned to guard duty to ensure the safety of people and vehicles passing by.

By around 0:00 on July 31, the initial repair work was basically completed.

Currently, functional units are continuing to review, assess the extent of damage and propose solutions to handle and completely remedy the situation as soon as possible.
