Women of Binh Nguyen commune arouse the spirit of solidarity and humanity in the community

In recent years, the women's movement and activities of the Women's Union of Binh Nguyen commune have had many strong innovations in both content and implementation methods. Not only focusing on taking care of the lives of members, the Union also arouses the spirit of solidarity and humanity in the community through a series of practical models, creating great attraction, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development and new rural construction in the locality.

Provide sponsorship funds to support children in difficult circumstances.

Over the years, the Women's Union of An Co Dong village has always closely followed the direction of the Commune Women's Union, effectively carried out humanitarian and charitable work, sharing difficulties with poor women and children. Notably, the model "Collecting and classifying recyclable waste to raise funds to support women and children in difficult circumstances" has been implemented since 2021. After 5 years of implementation, the model has collected nearly 15 million VND, thereby giving 45 gifts to members in especially difficult circumstances. The Union also mobilized members to support the models "Couple of loving leaves" and "Warm home of love" with a total amount of over 5 million VND; regularly organized the charity activity "Pot of loving porridge" with over 800 free porridges given to patients treated at Kien Xuong General Hospital, creating a good impression, demonstrating the spirit of sharing of local women with the sick. In addition, the Association also maintains propaganda activities, guides on making organic fertilizer from food waste, self-managed flower routes for women, art and sports clubs... attracting a large number of women to participate.

In Binh Nguyen, the women's movement is also closely linked to local economic development. Established in 2019, Thanh Tan rattan and bamboo cooperative has developed strongly with 16 production groups, attracting more than 500 workers, most of whom are middle-aged and elderly women. Each year, the cooperative produces over 100,000 export products, with workers' income reaching 3 to 4 million VND/month. In addition to creating stable jobs and increasing income for women, the cooperative also accompanies the Commune Women's Union in many activities to support poor women and single women to stabilize their lives and the movement to build new rural areas in the locality. Ms. Dang Thi Thu, President of the Women's Union of Binh Nguyen commune, affirmed: "In recent years, the Union has focused on implementing many clever mass mobilization models to spread meaningful activities for the community, in which the most prominent is the model of collecting and classifying recyclable waste to raise funds to support women and children in difficult circumstances. From the pilot model of An Co Nam village, after only 1 month, more than 2 million VND was collected. Realizing the practical effectiveness, the Union quickly expanded it throughout the commune. To date, more than 3,000 households have participated, collecting dozens of tons of waste, raising nearly 90 million VND. From this fund, the Union has given hundreds of gifts with a total value of nearly 70 million VND to members in difficult circumstances. The Union has launched and successfully implemented the model of "Collecting food waste and composting it to make organic fertilizer", attracting nearly 500 households to participate, and distributing more than 1,000 plastic buckets to serve waste classification at source". Along with that, the Association has maintained and taken care of nearly 1km of flower and tree roads, mobilizing 80-110 members to participate in monthly environmental sanitation, contributing to building an increasingly bright, green, clean and beautiful homeland. The movements to build "Cultural families", "Beautiful roads, clean alleys", "Families without people suffering from social evils" continue to be widely deployed. As a result, the Association has helped 85 families achieve the criteria of "5 no, 3 clean", exceeding the set target. In addition, the Association continues to maintain traditional models such as the pot of love porridge - warm meals, giving rice to single and disabled women, helping each other buy health insurance cards, "Pair of loving leaves", "Warm home of love"... From 2021 to now, the whole commune has launched 52 models and clubs, attracting more than 2,000 members to participate, making an important contribution to the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Women's Congress.

The Women's Union of Binh Nguyen commune has been promoting its core role in local patriotic emulation movements, continuing to affirm humanistic values, contributing to building a united and developed community.
