On October 19, Market Management Team No. 1 ( Phu Yen Market Management Department) completed the inspection record of the means of transport according to administrative procedures and transferred the entire case file of the transportation of 1,080 bottles of fake Okay brand toilet cleaner to the Investigation Police Agency of Tuy Hoa City Police for further handling according to the provisions of law.
Previously, on October 18, Market Management Team No. 1 coordinated with the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police to inspect a truck with license plate 29H-792.75 driven by driver Nguyen Chinh Bac (born in 1972, residing in Binh Son commune, Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province) through the province; discovered that the vehicle was carrying 1,080 bottles (960ml/bottle) of toilet bowl cleaner, contained in 90 carton boxes. This cleaner was labeled Okay, made in Thailand, with a secondary label. At the time of inspection, the driver could not present legal invoices or documents to prove the origin of the goods according to the provisions of law.
Through actual inspection, the forces discovered that all of the above bleach had signs of counterfeiting the Okay brand. Market Management Team No. 1 sent a document to Ha Son Nam Company Limited requesting an appraisal of goods with signs of counterfeiting the Okay brand and Ha Son Nam Company Limited concluded: 1,080 bottles of Okay toilet bowl cleaner were counterfeit goods according to the provisions of Article 213 of the Law on Intellectual Property 2005 (amended and supplemented in 2009). These goods are worth about 32.4 million VND.
