15 teachers in Bac Giang discovered buying fake degrees

Bac Giang Provincial Police said that from 2012 to 2022, 15 teachers in the province bought fake degrees and fake certificates to include in their recruitment, exam, job title appointment and teacher salary classification records.

On April 27, Bac Giang Provincial Police announced that the Internal Political Security Department had issued a Decision to initiate a criminal case; coordinated with the Investigation Security Agency and the Provincial Police to collect documents and issue a Decision to prosecute two teachers in Lang Giang District, including NTKN (born in 1988), residing in An Ha Commune and TTL (born in 1984), residing in Tan Thanh Commune for the crime of "Forgery of documents of agencies and organizations" under Article 341 of the Penal Code.

Accordingly, in February 2025, through the work of grasping the situation, the Internal Political Security Department, Bac Giang Provincial Police discovered information about a number of teachers in Lang Giang district buying fake diplomas and certificates for use.

During the investigation and verification process, the Internal Political Security Department determined that from 2012 to 2022, 14 teachers in Lang Giang district and 1 teacher in Yen The district bought fake diplomas with information from the Central Pedagogical College, Hanoi Pedagogical University and fake IT and foreign language certificates from Hanoi Pedagogical University to include in the application, recruitment exam, appointment of professional titles and teacher salary arrangement.

The case is currently under further investigation.

The act of buying and selling fake diplomas is a violation of the law, infringes on state management order in training activities, diploma issuance, and recruitment activities, seriously affecting the reputation of agencies and organizations.

The Internal Political Security Department of Bac Giang Provincial Police recommends that organizations and individuals do not advertise; make, buy, sell, or use fake diplomas, certificates, licenses, and documents.

In the coming time, Bac Giang Provincial Police will strengthen measures to grasp the situation to detect violations and strictly handle them according to the law.
