Nearly 2m long crocodile found floating in canal in Ben Tre

On the evening of June 5, Mr. Vo Duy Nhan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Thanh commune (Giong Trom district, Ben Tre province), confirmed that local people discovered a large crocodile floating in Tu Chay canal, a section belonging to Cay Da culvert, Tan Phuoc hamlet.

According to initial reports, the crocodile was about 2 meters long and weighed about 150 kg. Some people promptly recorded the image and posted it on social networks, attracting attention and causing concern in the community.

The crocodile has not yet been captured. Local authorities have issued a warning to people to be vigilant, especially not to bathe in the river, set nets, or fish in this area.

“If people discover crocodiles, they need to immediately report to the People's Committee or the commune police for timely guidance and handling,” the notice clearly stated.

Authorities are continuing to monitor and implement plans to ensure safety for people in the area.
