The other force is the Police to fight domestic enemies and sabotage. There are times of war, and times of peace. During war, the Army fights the enemy, and during peace, they train. As for the Police, they have to fight the enemy regularly. During war, there is work, and during peace, there is even more work..." Under the leadership of the Party and great Uncle Ho, the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) has grown and become increasingly strong, and is honored by the people of the whole country with the extremely noble title "Uncle Ho's Soldiers".

Having gone through the resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism and now being ready to fight to firmly protect the Fatherland from early on and from afar, "Uncle Ho's soldiers" has become the sacred title of the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army.
According to the memoirs of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the origin of the title "Uncle Ho's Army" appeared right after the "Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army" was established. The ethnic minorities in Viet Bac often affectionately called our armed units "Mr. Ke's Army" or "Mr. Cu's Army" in a warm and sincere manner, like the hearts of the people towards their leader when many people at that time did not know his name. Later, when they knew that "Mr. Cu", "Mr. Ke" was Uncle Ho, the beloved President Ho Chi Minh, the people called "Mr. Ke's Army", "Mr. Cu's Army" "Uncle Ho's Army". From the Viet Bac resistance base, that familiar title spread and shone brightly among the people of the whole country during our nation's resistance wars against foreign invaders from then until now.
In the revolutionary history of our country, the beauty of the personality of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" is a unique cultural symbol of the nation, and at the same time the shining peak of the qualities and abilities of revolutionary soldiers in the Ho Chi Minh era, ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people.
The title "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" is a form of discourse with a very close and intimate national cultural style. Our people affectionately and lovingly call the army officers and soldiers "Uncle Ho's Soldiers". Because generations of officers and soldiers in our army always study, strive, practice and follow the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh, worthy of being the revolutionary armed forces of the Party and great Uncle Ho. This title is the symbol of the bright cultural personality of President Ho Chi Minh - the great and beloved leader of the entire nation in the new era. This title also shows the respect, affection and strong belief that the masses have for the Army, the Party and beloved Uncle Ho. The people call it that because they can feel the special and rare deep relationship between President Ho Chi Minh and the officers and soldiers in the entire army.
Uncle Ho - the beloved father of the People's Armed Forces, the founder of the Army, who painstakingly nurtured and cared for each step of its growth; was always close to, loved and believed in the bravery and creativity of the soldiers; understood, sympathized and was moved by the soldiers' endurance of hardship and readiness to sacrifice in combat.
Under the leadership of the Party, over the past 80 years, generations of officers and soldiers of "Uncle Ho's Army" have always been worthy of the trust and love of the people, increasingly matured, grown stronger, overcome many challenges and difficulties, fought and defeated all enemies, firmly protected the Fatherland. The title "Uncle Ho's Army" is the convergence, crystallization and high radiance of the unique cultural values of our Army in particular, and Vietnamese cultural values in general in the Ho Chi Minh era.
The cultural values of Uncle Ho's soldiers are the revolutionary cultural standards of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of defending the Fatherland; demonstrating the revolutionary cultural values of the Ho Chi Minh era; and are a shining symbol of patriotic tradition.
In the 1940s, in response to the urgent need to prepare for an armed uprising, under the leadership of the Party headed by leader Ho Chi Minh, on December 22, 1944, the "Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army" was established with the first commander being comrade Vo Nguyen Giap. The two battles of Na Ngan and Phai Khat were the opening victories that wrote the glorious history of our Army. On August 19, 1945, under the leadership of the Party and Uncle Ho, the August general uprising was victorious and on September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh read the "Declaration of Independence" giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
Overcoming all hardships, "Uncle Ho's Army" achieved the earth-shaking Dien Bien Phu victory and then the victory over the American invaders, liberating the South and unifying the country. Currently, "Uncle Ho's Army" is increasingly developing "refined, compact, strong", advancing towards modernity, ready to firmly protect the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
Joining the Vietnam People's Army are many outstanding young people who are enlightened about the revolution, who come from the background of the working people throughout the country, determined to strive to realize the revolutionary ideals that the Party, Uncle Ho, our Army and all the people aspire to, worthy of the name "Uncle Ho's Soldiers". In 1954, at Gieng Temple, the historical and cultural relic site of Hung Temple (Phu Tho), inheriting and continuing the tradition of "Generals and soldiers with the same heart as father and son", Uncle Ho advised our army officers and soldiers: "The Hung Kings have contributed to building the country. We, uncles and nephews, must work together to protect the country". Therefore, the people have extremely respected and used the affectionate title of the beloved leader to name their army of beloved revolutionary soldiers "Uncle Ho's Soldiers", with the meaning of affirming: this is Uncle Ho's army, an army that demonstrates the moral qualities, cultural personality, and noble revolutionary ideals of Uncle Ho.
Over the past 80 years since its establishment on December 22, 1944, our Army's officers and soldiers have been promoting the spirit of "For the people, forgetting themselves, sacrificing for the people" to the highest level. That is the command of the heart, the beauty of the revolutionary moral qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" across the country. Seriously implementing the sacred "10 oaths of honor" of the Vietnam People's Army, officers and soldiers are always attached to the people, practicing "the army and the people are like fish and water", "when they leave, the people remember, when they stay, the people love". Reality shows that "Uncle Ho's soldiers" are a powerful main force to protect the Fatherland early and from afar in the new situation; ready to carry out search and rescue missions, environmental pollution treatment or bomb and mine detection and removal. "Uncle Ho's soldiers" are always present at the earliest places of natural disasters, enemy attacks, and dangers to protect people's lives and property. In the high mountains, deep forests, remote border and island areas, "Uncle Ho's soldiers" worked as doctors, teachers, and propagandists of the Party and State's guidelines, policies, and laws. Therefore, the Vietnamese people have a familiar saying with profound meaning: "Where there are soldiers, people can rest assured."
The title "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" is a symbol of the righteous truth of the nation and the era, the embodiment of the spirit of humanity, humanity, peace and friendship of Vietnamese culture. Throughout the history of the revolution, with the beauty of the cultural values of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers", with a righteous stance, the Army has been determined to fight to protect the independence and freedom of the nation, world peace, with a noble spirit of humanity, valuing friendship between nations. In the battles against the common enemies of French colonialism and American imperialism, the Army's officers and soldiers with the qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" volunteered to go to Laos to fight, contributing much to the glorious feats of arms of the revolutionary cause of the neighboring country. "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" volunteered to perform international duties to help the Cambodian people revive, escape the barbaric genocide, and were called "Buddhist army" by the people of the land of pagodas. In the history of the world's military, it is rare to see an army that is so heroic, patriotic, and humane, and is absolutely trusted by the people of the country as well as other countries. Recently, the Army's officers and soldiers have actively participated in the United Nations peacekeeping force, spreading the beauty of the cultural values of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" which is also the beauty of Vietnamese national culture in the world, in the love and admiration of the people of the world.
Today, the cultural value of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" is still vividly expressed in the passionate love for the homeland, love for the nation, love for the people, love for people, the noble spirit of humanity, humanity, strong will and determination, intelligence, creativity in combat, the spirit of self-sacrifice, the aspiration to contribute to the Fatherland. In recent times, hostile forces and international reactionaries have continuously carried out many sophisticated and insidious tricks to sabotage the Vietnamese revolution, causing "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" in order to carry out "velvet revolution" and "color revolution", plotting to cause riots and overthrow our regime.
Understanding that the Vietnam People's Army is a trustworthy political force, an absolutely loyal fighting force of the Party, State and People, hostile forces and reactionaries often try to incite in order to divide the military-civilian relationship, plotting to promote "depoliticization" of the army, in order to separate the Party's leadership from the Army. Therefore, the task of resolutely preventing and defeating the "peaceful evolution" tricks and the plot to "depoliticize" the army by hostile forces must be considered a central, top, regular and effective political requirement. From the Central Military Commission to all Party committees, leaders, commanders and officers and soldiers of units throughout the army, it is necessary to raise revolutionary political awareness, deeply imbued with Uncle Ho's teaching: "Military obeys politics" because "military without politics is like a tree without roots, useless and harmful". Along with the task of training and developing high-quality human resources in military science and national defense to meet the urgent requirements of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation, promoting the study and training of steadfast political will and revolutionary moral qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" for officers and soldiers in the entire army, especially young officers and soldiers, is the most important factor to build and develop a lean, compact, strong Army, a special endogenous resource to build and firmly protect the Fatherland, for a strong, prosperous, happy Vietnam and actively contribute to protecting world peace.
Promoting the good qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new period, the officers and soldiers of the Hoa Binh provincial armed forces have constantly cultivated and trained their moral qualities, improved their capacity, qualifications, and combat readiness, becoming a reliable, absolutely loyal, and core force in the task of protecting the Fatherland, contributing to building a prosperous Hoa Binh homeland. The results in training, exercises, combat readiness, and building the provincial armed forces in recent years, especially in 2024, have been praised by the Military Region Command, and the Ministry of National Defense has awarded an excellent emulation flag... These are the most vivid and practical evidences to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.
