The 416th Armored Brigade, stationed in the area, still faces many difficulties in terms of climate conditions, harsh weather, intense heat, frequent water shortages in the dry season; prices often fluctuate; equipment to ensure medical examination, treatment, and health care for soldiers has not met the needs... these factors have directly affected the unit's logistics support work.

“Thoroughly grasping the resolutions of the Party Committee, the Brigade Command, the direction of the Military Region Logistics Department and the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the Brigade Logistics sector has always proactively advised and proposed many policies and measures to lead, direct and organize the implementation of improving the quality of logistics support aspects, especially the goals and contents of the emulation movement “The Army Logistics Sector follows Uncle Ho's teachings”... Thanks to that, the unit's logistics support work has increasingly changed comprehensively”, shared Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Quang Hai, Deputy Brigade Commander of Brigade 416.

With the characteristics of a military unit, managing many subjects, the level of food security is different. Therefore, the Brigade always determines that organizing and implementing well the work of feeding soldiers, ensuring correct and sufficient standards and food quantities for the subjects is the top requirement.

“The logistics department always maintains and strictly manages the kitchens; closely organizes centralized supply work, exploits and creates stable sources of food and provisions. At the same time, actively and proactively creates on-site material and logistics resources, improves food processing techniques, ensures food hygiene and safety; organizes the signing of contracts with reputable food and provision businesses, ensures quality and prices according to the agreed price council... Thanks to that, even when market prices fluctuate, the quality of soldiers' meals remains stable. The daily food quota of soldiers always meets and exceeds regulations," added Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Quang Hai.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Duong Dinh Can, Brigade Commander of the 416th Armored Brigade, the unit's effective way of ensuring logistics in recent times is that leaders and commanders regularly inspect food preparation and cooking in the kitchens during the day as well as on holidays and Tet. In addition to actual inspections, leaders and commanders also require kitchens to take photos of meals every day to report, monitor, and compare between kitchens.

“The Brigade regularly maintains and implements well the regime of daily financial transparency and monthly economic democracy; manages well the food money, the number of food troops, the import and export of food and daily food; regularly maintains the regimes and regulations of the canteen. Equipment and utensils for the canteen and kitchen are also managed, recorded, handed over closely, and used for the right purposes. Units in the entire Brigade also actively make brawn, pickles, and bean sprouts... contributing to ensuring quality and safe food, enriching the quality of soldiers' meals,” said Lieutenant Colonel Duong Dinh Can.

Along with that, the production increase work (TGSX) in the 416th Armored Brigade has been focused on promoting. The units have effectively promoted the TGSX model, diversified crops and livestock, planted and well cared for the system of gardens, trellises, livestock, poultry, fish ponds... "We regularly organize repairs, upgrade barns, expand the area of ​​ponds; invest in TGSX according to the model of "garden, pond, barn" associated with the kitchen; promote the application of scientific advances to ensure the development of TGSX in a sustainable direction, with diversified products and friendly to the environment... From there, the unit always ensures 95-100% of the demand for green vegetables, tubers and fruits; 80% to 90% of the demand for meat and fish of all kinds to improve the lives of soldiers", Major Nguyen Xuan Thao, Deputy Battalion Commander of Battalion 8 revealed.

With the motto "Prevention is better than cure", the movement "Building 5 good Military Medical Units", "Military Medical Soldiers follow Uncle Ho's teachings"... has been promoted by the Brigade. The Brigade always proactively coordinates with local health care , closely monitors the epidemic situation in the area, effectively implements health care and protection measures; disease prevention and control; heatstroke prevention and control for soldiers. In addition, it also coordinates with the Preventive Medicine Team of Military Region 9 to organize environmental disinfection spraying, insect and disease extermination... For many years, the unit has had no epidemics or food safety violations.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Quoc Bao, Chief of Military Medicine, Logistics - Engineering Department, 416th Armored Brigade said: “To ensure a good number of healthy soldiers participating in training, the military medical sector promptly screens and informs about the health status so that each individual can take measures to take care of their health; organizes and develops training plans with appropriate intensity for each subject... thanks to that, the average number of healthy soldiers always meets the set target. We also proactively coordinate with Military Hospital 120 and Military Hospital 121 to organize periodic health check-ups for the subjects; actively monitor and direct hygiene and disease prevention, especially dengue fever, meningitis caused by meningococcus, diphtheria... so the unit always ensures safety in all activities".
