Promoting potential and strengths, creating competitive advantages to develop Sa Dec city

That is the proposal of comrade Pham Thien Nghia - Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee at the working session with Sa Dec City People's Committee on the implementation of key tasks in 2023 on the afternoon of February 23, 2023.

As an economic locomotive, in recent times, Sa Dec city has actively contributed to the development of the province in all fields; promoting the potential and advantages of the southern economic center of the province, connecting and spreading to neighboring localities for mutual development.

Notably, 39/43 targets were achieved according to the Resolution of the City People's Council assigned in 2022 and 8/9 of the 2022 action commitments with the Provincial People's Committee were completed.

Agricultural production in the city is stable, plant and animal diseases are well controlled; the production value of ornamental flowers accounts for 47% of the province, with a very high growth rate (183%) compared to 2021; disbursement of public investment capital in 2022 reached 100%, the first months of 2023 also reached a quite high rate (21.7%); the state budget revenue of the year achieved positive results, the revenue growth rate recovered (up 88% compared to 2021); 13 more OCOP products were recognized; social security was ensured; people's lives were stable, many aspects were improved; tourism activities were strongly restored, attracting many visitors.

After listening to the report of the City People's Committee, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Pham Thien Nghia commended and highly appreciated the efforts to overcome difficulties and the results that Sa Dec city has achieved in recent times.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that Sa Dec city needs to promote its potential and strengths, overcome shortcomings and limitations, continue to set high goals, strive to be a pioneering locality in the South Tien River region in terms of innovation and dynamism, better exploit potentials and advantages, and create new competitive advantages. The city urgently completes the tasks of implementing socio-economic development tasks in 2023, deploys and implements the preliminary summary of the Provincial People's Committee's Plans to concretize the Resolutions and thematic Conclusions of the Provincial Party Committee, especially implementing Resolution No. 02-NQ/TU on socio-economic development of Sa Dec city to 2025, with a vision to 2030.

In addition, Sa Dec City also needs to clearly identify key tasks, pay attention to digital transformation in urban construction and development; improve the favorable investment and business environment, encourage the development of enterprise types; speed up the implementation of public investment projects and works in 2023 and the period 2021 - 2025; strengthen trade promotion and call for investment in urban development and socio-economic development.

Along with economic development, Sa Dec city needs to pay attention to cultural and social development, improve the quality of education and training, maintain and promote the results of "Global Learning City"; preserve cultural identity, enhance local image; and implement social security policies well.

In addition, strengthening urban beautification work, coordinating with functional agencies to prepare well for the organization of the first Sa Dec Flower Festival in 2023, contributing to promoting the image, potential and strengths of local tourism - the head of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
